Indian models went on sale in June 2009, and were initially built by Audi's Ingolstadt facility, but are now being built at its Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India plant. Launch models include 3.0 TDI, 2.0 TFSI (211 PS).
Middle East models went on sale in 2009 Q2. Launch models include 2.0 TFSI (211 PS), 3.2 FSI.

I absolutely love this car! As an owner of two M5s, I can confidently say that this car surpasses them both. Living in a congested city means that I rarely get to use the full power potential of my M5s, but the SQ5 is the perfect ride for all-around transport. The air suspension and ride height adjustment make for a smooth and comfortable ride. While the off-the-line power may not be the best, once the turbos spool up, it shoots out like a rocket! The technology in this car is top-notch and far superior to the BMWs I've owned in the past. My SQ5 has every conceivable option installed, making driving in congestion a breeze. I haven't had the chance to try the auto cruise control yet, but the Audi pre sense is a life-saver if you ever take your eyes off the road. Additionally, I have the Audi connect and connect plus installed, which means I have Google Maps and WiFi in my vehicle. This is especially useful on long road trips when you need to work on your laptop or save mobile data. The package includes unlimited data usage, so there's no need to worry about going over. Overall, this car is an incredibly comfortable ride that you won't be disappointed with!

I've owned a lot of cars since the late 70s, mostly BMW and Porsche. I've had the pleasure of owning 5 M3s, 2 M5s, 4 911s, and more recently X5s, a Cayenne, and even an X3M. Then I bought a 2012 Audi A8L and fell in love with the brand. I bought my wife an Audi allroad and wanted something a little sportier. I went to the dealer intending to look at the S4/S6/7 line and was considering the S5 Sportback. All of the aforementioned is only for context. I'm an older guy who appreciates performance, and yet I have a perspective of how much performance a person can actually use on the street. I also enjoy a modicum of practicality, and so many new cars today offer both that could only be dreamed of 10 or 15 years ago. The SQ5 is without a doubt the best balance of both comfort and performance I have encountered to date in an easy-to-live-with package. It's simply amazing the choices we consumers enjoy today. I considered a Macan, but the usual Porsche buying experience is a turnoff. Additionally, my local Audi dealer was terrific to deal with, and frankly, the SQ5 technology embarrasses the Macan. The driving dynamics of the 2018 SQ5 feel far superior to the older platform that underpins the Macan. You can't go wrong with the SQ5, and be sure to get the virtual cockpit option.

I love the SQ5! It's a unique car that combines the best features of all the cars I've owned before. The ride is comfortable, stable, and quiet, while also being sporty and powerful. It's perfect for driving in the city or the countryside. The advanced technology makes me feel like I'm in a spaceship. When I was considering other cars, I test drove the Volvo XC90 and the RX 350, but they just didn't compare to the SQ5. The Volvo had a bouncy air suspension and an unreliable NAV system, while the RX 350 had a rough ride and was boring to drive. I had never driven an Audi before, but after test driving the Q7 with my wife, I knew I had to have the SQ5. It's the perfect combination of a sports car and a comfortable SUV, and it meets all of my driving needs.

I purchased my car on 9/28/19 from Jack Daniel Route 4 NJ for $41,000 with 28,600 miles on it. Since then, I have had a few issues with the car, such as the water pump and heating system failing, but they were promptly fixed. The driver window was also making noise, but it was fixed as well. The antenna is slightly unglued, but unfortunately, Audi would not replace it under warranty, so I used crazy glue. The center light bulb on the right side bumper does not switch on, but Audi says it got bumped, so they won't change it under warranty. I found that the Continental tires were not great, so when it's time to change them, I plan to get Michelin. The only major issue I have had with the car is the ABS brake system, which adjusts itself every time I start driving after less than 15 seconds. It makes a crunching/clicking noise, but it's not too loud and can only be noticed at low speeds. Audi says it's normal for the 2018 and 2019 models, but not for the 2020 model. Currently, my car has 40,527 miles, and the 40,000-mile maintenance cost me $995. I'm not sure if I'll keep the car after 49,000 miles. In 2012, I bought a new 2013 Q5, and I had no problems with it until I sold it in 2016. However, that one was built in Europe, while the SQ5 is made in Mexico.

I'm coming to the end of my 3-year lease of a loaded SQ5. It's been a blast to drive and I love the fact that it's not a common sight on the road. However, I have found that the electronics can be a bit quirky and not very intuitive from the driver's seat. Unfortunately, the CarPlay often fails to connect and the functions are quite limited. Additionally, the navigation system is difficult to use and there is no touchscreen. Another issue I've encountered is that the engine turns off before the car has fully stopped, causing a jerky stop. Overall, my experience with Audi garage servicing quality has been disappointing, which has made me hesitant to acquire a new Audi in 2021.

I wanted to share an update on our experience with the purchase of a brand new 2018 SQ5. Unfortunately, we experienced total electronic system failures three times in a span of three drives, which was both unsafe and disappointing. Initially, the response from the service manager was lackluster, but I presented the dealership with a detailed and respectful written response. After a few days, Audi corporate contacted the dealer and decided to take the car back and replace it with a new SQ5. I was pleasantly surprised by Audi's willingness to take responsibility and avoid an ongoing cycle of repairs or lemon law action. As a first-time Audi owner/BMW convert, this experience reset my expectations. I have had little time to enjoy the car due to this event, but I will update my review of the new car once it has been driven sufficiently. I must say that we were treated very well at the dealer once this issue was addressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I recently leased a brand-new 2022 SQ5 and wanted to share my experience. Overall, the SQ5 has great ride quality and power, comparable to the BMW X3 or JCW Mini, and better than Lexus. However, I did encounter some issues with the electronics and customer service. The myAudi app/website is not very useful and requires a visit to the dealer for registration. Additionally, Premium trim does not come with ConnectPrime or ConnectPlus, and the owner cannot buy these packages. Instead, you can buy 'functions on demand' ConnectPlus + Nav for a fee of $900/yr. Compared to Audi's closest competitors, MB or BMW, their apps and websites are much more functional and easy-to-use. Lastly, calling Audi of America can result in long wait times, which can be frustrating. Overall, I had a mixed experience with Audi, but I still enjoyed the ride quality and power of the SQ5.So, in my humble opinion, instead of using 'Truth in Engineering', perhaps Audi could consider using 'Another German Auto' or a different slogan.

While this issue has been reported by other owners on audiworld.com, it is important to note that it was resolved within a week and did not cause any further damage. Overall, I am satisfied with the car's performance and features. However, I do hope that Audi will continue to improve their reliability in the future.
