2011 Acura Zdx problems
The Acura ZDX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV with a sloping rear roofline developed by Honda for its upmarket brand Acura. The car was originally planned to be called the "MSX". The ZDX debuted at the 2009 New York International Auto Show on April 8, 2009, as a 2010 model. The vehicle was also the first to be completely designed at Acura's southern California design studio in Torrance.
The original ZDX concept was penned by Michelle Christensen who labeled it a "4-door luxury sports coupe" and which Acura says "blurs the distinction between coupe, sedan and sport utility vehicle."
The ZDX features Acura's first six speed automatic transmission, advanced ventilated seats, as well as other luxury appointments. Although the ZDX shares a similar profile with the Honda Crosstour, the two vehicles are not mechanically related: the latter is based on the Honda Accord, while the ZDX is based on the Honda Pilot/Acura MDX.
On August 19, 2022, it was announced that the ZDX nameplate would return to Acura's lineup in 2024 for the brand's first electric vehicle. The new ZDX will be co-developed with General Motors.

Common 2011 Acura Zdx problems
The 2011 Acura ZDX has been reported to have a few common problems, primarily related to the engine and some minor issues with the interior and exterior design.
- Limited Production and Parts Availability: Due to the limited production of the 2011 Acura ZDX, there may be concerns about the cost and availability of model-specific parts for repairs. This is a potential issue for owners who might need to replace parts in the future.
- Center Console and Back Seat Accessibility: Some owners have reported that the center console is slightly awkward to get into, and getting in and out of the back seat can be challenging. This might not be a significant issue for daily drivers who don't frequently use the back seat, but it is worth noting for those who plan to carry passengers regularly.
- Interior and Exterior Design: The 2011 Acura ZDX has a unique and polarizing design, which some owners appreciate for its stylish appearance, while others might find it less appealing. This is a subjective issue, and potential buyers should consider whether the design aligns with their preferences.
- Compromised Cargo Capacity: The 2011 Acura ZDX has a compromised cargo capacity due to its design, which might not be ideal for those who need to carry larger items frequently. However, the car's interior is luxurious and high-tech, which might compensate for the limited cargo space for some owners.
In summary, the 2011 Acura ZDX has some common problems related to the engine, interior and exterior design, and cargo capacity. Potential buyers should consider these issues and weigh them against the car's luxurious interior, high-tech features, and unique styling.

Why did Acura discontinue the ZDX?
The ZDX was discontinued after the 2013 model year due to poor sales, and in a statement from Honda, "as the Acura brand sharpens its focus on new models and core products." The ZDX was the rarest of U.S. manufactured Acura offerings, with a total of 7,191 vehicles produced and sold in North America.

You'll either love or hate the way it looks. While it's great on the highway, driving in the city can be a bit nerve-wracking, especially with numerous blind spots. However, with the Advantage Package, I feel much more confident driving it in the city. This SUV is quite heavy at 4500 pounds, but I keep it in sport mode and it feels great. There are so many bells and whistles that it may take a good 6 months to learn them all, but once you do, you never need to take your hands off the wheel. Just tell the car what you want and it does it, making you feel very safe. Although it comes with a huge price tag, it's definitely worth it. I've only had it for about 3 weeks, but I already feel like adding some wings to this baby!

I love everything about it!

Wow, what a car!!! Just needs more power!!!!

I can tell you really love your ZDX! The grigio metallic exterior with the Umber interior sounds like a great combination. It's great to hear that you find the styling, comfort, and handling to be top-notch. I understand that you would like more headroom in the back seat and a wider sunroof, but overall it sounds like this car is a perfect fit for you. It's impressive that this is your 4th Acura and 8th Honda product! Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us.

Reviewer's mindset: I had the pleasure of driving both the ZDX and RDX, and while the ZDX is undeniably luxurious and stylish, I found myself missing the agility and fun of my RDX after just two weeks. The ZDX is certainly a hot rod in sport mode, but lacks the thrilling surge of the RDX. While the ZDX handles curves with ease, my RDX requires a bit more effort, making it feel more agile and enjoyable to drive. The ZDX is incredibly comfortable, but taller passengers may find it a bit cramped in the back. Additionally, the ZDX has a significant blind spot on the driver's side, which can be challenging to navigate in traffic. Overall, while I enjoyed cruising in luxury, I ultimately missed the excitement of my RDX. I appreciate the opportunity to test drive the ZDX, but I am grateful to have my RDX back. Thank you for the loaner!

The interior pieces falling out and the easily scratched center console made the car look terrible after only 2 months. Despite its impressive looks and power, the car's speed was disappointingly slow.
