Common Suzuki X90 problems
The Suzuki X-90, a compact SUV produced from 1995 to 1997, is known for its unique design and versatility. However, like any vehicle, it has its share of common problems that owners have reported. This article will discuss some of these issues in detail.
One of the most common problems with the Suzuki X-90 is engine oil leaks. The engine's gaskets and seals may wear out over time, causing oil to leak from various parts of the engine. This issue can lead to a decrease in engine performance and increased oil consumption. Regular inspections and maintenance can help prevent and detect oil leaks, but if left unattended, they can cause significant engine damage.
Another common issue with the Suzuki X-90 is transmission problems, particularly failure to shift gears and clutch problems. The clutch system in the X-90 can wear out over time, causing issues such as slipping, noise, and difficulty shifting gears. These problems can lead to decreased performance and even complete transmission failure if left unattended. Regular maintenance, such as replacing the clutch fluid and inspecting the clutch system, can help prevent these issues.
The Suzuki X-90 may also experience electrical problems, such as battery drainage, alternator failure, and electrical shorts. These issues can cause various symptoms, such as difficulty starting the vehicle, dimming headlights, and warning lights on the dashboard. Electrical problems can be challenging to diagnose and repair, so it's essential to seek professional help if you suspect your X-90 has an electrical issue.
Suspension and steering problems are also common in the Suzuki X-90, including alignment issues, steering wheel vibration, and suspension noise. These problems can affect the vehicle's handling and safety, making it crucial to address them promptly. Regular inspections and maintenance, such as aligning the wheels and replacing worn-out suspension components, can help prevent these issues.
Fuel system problems, such as fuel pump failure, clogged fuel injectors, and fuel filter issues, can also occur in the Suzuki X-90. These problems can cause various symptoms, such as difficulty starting the vehicle, decreased performance, and increased fuel consumption. Regular maintenance, such as replacing the fuel filter and inspecting the fuel system, can help prevent these issues.
Exhaust system problems, such as rust and corrosion, leaking exhaust manifold, and muffler issues, can also affect the Suzuki X-90. These problems can cause various symptoms, such as decreased performance, increased noise, and decreased fuel efficiency. Regular inspections and maintenance, such as replacing worn-out exhaust components and treating rust and corrosion, can help prevent these issues.
Brake problems are also common in the Suzuki X-90, including brake pad wear, brake fluid leaks, and spongy or soft brake pedal. These problems can affect the vehicle's safety and performance, making it crucial to address them promptly. Regular inspections and maintenance, such as replacing the brake pads and inspecting the brake system, can help prevent these issues.
Cooling system problems, such as radiator leaks, coolant loss, and faulty thermostat, can also occur in the Suzuki X-90. These problems can cause various symptoms, such as overheating, decreased performance, and increased fuel consumption. Regular maintenance, such as replacing the coolant and inspecting the cooling system, can help prevent these issues.
Exterior and interior problems, such as paint peeling or fading, window regulator failure, and dashboard and interior component issues, can also affect the Suzuki X-90. These problems can affect the vehicle's appearance and functionality, making it crucial to address them promptly. Regular inspections and maintenance, such as repainting the vehicle and replacing worn-out interior components, can help prevent these issues.
In conclusion, the Suzuki X-90 is a unique and versatile vehicle, but like any vehicle, it has its share of common problems. Regular inspections and maintenance can help prevent and detect these issues, ensuring the vehicle's longevity and performance. If you suspect your X-90 has any of these problems, it's essential to seek professional help and address them promptly.

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with my car. I've always wanted one of these since I first saw one in 1997, but I wasn't able to get one until 2005. I found one that had been severely abused by previous owners, but I was able to nurse it back to health and it has been a great car ever since! It's even more fun than I had hoped and I love how unique it is. I get more looks than the new Mustangs, especially with the t-tops off! Although it doesn't have a backseat, it still looks really cool. The engine is small, but it can still move if you need it to. I'm planning to swap the engine soon. Thanks for listening!

Great job on the car! It's so much fun to drive and definitely turns heads more than a Corvette.

Great SUV! You get more comments from people than with any other car I've ever had. They are rare and people always ask, 'What is that?' It's such a great looking small SUV! It's also one of the most reliable and fun to drive vehicles I've ever owned. I would definitely buy another one.

I love this car and I want to buy another one. I plan on keeping it forever, even after I purchase something larger in the future. The bubble has 127,000 miles on it and has only had a few minor issues, which were resolved at 115,000 miles. I wish they were still producing these cars and that they were more readily available. It's definitely a car that catches people's attention - especially the ladies!

We've been driving the X-90 for two years now and it's been a great car for getting around the city. Finding a parking spot is never a problem! While it's not the best car for high speeds due to its high profile, we've had no major issues with it and it's been very low-maintenance. We have experienced some minor problems with the power windows being slow, but that's been the only issue. The car can be a bit bumpy on potholed streets, but that's something that can be easily fixed by changing the shocks. The gas mileage is good, although not as great as you might expect for a car of this size, averaging around 26mpg in the city.

110,000 miles. You may need to replace the EGR valve twice and the fuel pump once, but otherwise, it's okay. It may not have as good gas mileage as you'd think.
