Jaguar I-pace problems
The Jaguar I-Pace (stylised as I-PACE) is a battery-electric crossover SUV produced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) under their Jaguar marque. The I-Pace was announced in March 2018, European deliveries began in June 2018 and North American deliveries started in October 2018. Amid slowing sales and a change in corporate vision, Jaguar has announced that the I-Pace will be discontinued by 2025.
Development
The Jaguar I-Pace was designed by Ian Callum. The concept version of the car, described as a five-seater sports car, was unveiled by JLR at the 2016 Los Angeles Motor Show and shown on-road in London in March 2017.
The I-Pace is built by contract manufacturer Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, and the production version of the I-Pace was revealed in Graz on 1 March 2018.
Some of the electric drive technology has come out of the Jaguar I-Type electric Formula E racing car programme, and the concentric motors were developed by JLR engineer Dr. Alex Michaelides.

What is the problem with the I-Pace?
Drivers of Jaguar I-Pace vehicles have revealed their concerns over the electric vehicles appearing to accelerate without warning and suffer brake failures. Several owners have reported terrifying experiences with the luxury £80,000 model in Britain which has seen them crash into houses or drive off car parks.
Why is the Jaguar I-Pace not selling?
Jaguar I-Pace left out of EV revamp
He said the I-Pace will be discontinued before the company's relaunch in 2025 (alongside the rest of its current model range). The company is looking for a fresh start, and the I-Pace will not be included, not even as a bridge vehicle.
Is the Jaguar I-pace dependable?
I-Pace should be the most reliable Jaguar in the range and there's plenty of safety tech. Jaguar hasn't had the best reputation for reliability in recent years, but owners are satisfied with their cars more generally.
How many miles will a Jaguar i-Pace last?
The I-Pace houses a sizeable 90kWh battery but offers range of around 240-250 miles (official WLTP is 255 miles). Consequently, efficiency falls noticeably below the expected lower threshold of 3mi/kWh.

- Summary: The vehicle has a recall. With JAG stating that there is a temporary fix. - Summary: My Jaguar dealer implemented what they said was a H514 interim recall update remedy on my 2019 I-Pace while it was in for other repairs. This remedy action is stated on this web site to "have their maximum state of charge altered to80%". Not less than or more than 80%. My dealer apparently gave a false high temperature signal to the current H441 software in my car and the car tripped to prevent charging > 72%. This brings in a large message on the dash "Traction Battery Fault". Jaguar is apparently taking a shortcut that does not meet their stated response to the NHTSB as to what they will do for the interim update. Truthfulness in Jaguars reporting to the NHTSB is in doubt due to this action.

- Summary: Inquiry Regarding Safety Recall and Manufacturer Responsability Dear NHTSA, I am seeking your assistance regarding a vehicle I imported from the United States to Iceland. The vehicle, Jaguar i-pace 2019, has been identified as having a defective and dangerous battery, which is part of a safety recall in the U.S. Despite this, the manufacturer’s representative in Iceland refuses to honor the recall or provide a replacement battery, citing that the car is no longer in the U.S. Given the serious safety risks, I would appreciate guidance on what steps I can take or what recourse I have. Is there any possibility to enforce the recall or ensure the manufacturer takes responsibility even outside the U.S.? Thank you for your assistance. All occupants in the car felt the car jolt forward then the fault alarms went off. I was able to continue to drive the car safely and returned home. This is the second time this has happened within the last 30 days. The first time the vehicle bricked on me, it was towed to the Jaguar dealership in Tacoma Washington. There they reset the vehicle defaults disappeared, and it was returned to me. The first time this happened, I was turning into a parking lot and parked in a parking space. At that time the car would not go into park. I turned the vehicle off and turned it back on again. It remained in gear however the vehicle was not moving. It would not let me start it and I was unable to drive it.

- Summary: I own a 2020 Jaguar I-Pace. Last year H441 software update had been installed on my car as per NHTSA guidelines. To reach of the right car started giving me trouble. I was getting loud fan noise. A few days later I got a traction battery fault notification.Since then, the car has not been charging more than 72%. I gave the car to the dealership for service. They informed me that the H441 software had identified a battery fault within the high-voltage battery and is preventing the car from charging greater than 72%. A few days later they informed me that model number 14 in the high-voltage battery pack had a fault and needs to be replaced. As per the H441 recall, Jaguar is supposed to replace the battery free of cost. But the dealership is asking me for 6979.60 USD to replace the model. When I asked them why am being charged the amount when Jaguar is supposed to replace the pack at no cost, they informed me that my car is out of warranty. As per the customer notification letter sent from Jaguar in the past, there is no mention of battery warranty being a part of the H441 recall. Currently my car is stuck at the dealership without any response from Jaguar. Please help me with the situation.

- Summary: On July 9, 2024, I contacted the Jaguar Columbia dealership in Columbia, South Carolina to schedule an appointment for the recall service. I spoke with Tabor in the service department who told me that Jamie Alexander, the dealership’s shop manager, advised him that Jaguar Columbia is not EV certified and the dealership does not have the equipment to complete the safety recall repair. On that same date, I contacted Jaguar’s Customer Relationship Center (as listed on the safety recall notice) to report the matter and ask for resolution. I was advised that there is an open case with Jaguar’s consumer affairs department that was started on July 1st. I was advised that the Customer relationship center could do nothing to help me because of the existence of this case that Jaguar has open. I have not been contacted by Jaguar regarding the status of the case and when I asked the Jaguar customer center for information to contact the Jaguar consumer affairs department, I was advised that the customer relationship center does not have any contact information for the Jaguar consumer affairs department. I would like to be contacted immediately by Jaguar regarding acceptable resolution.

This is an incredible first attempt by Jaguar to give Tesla a run for its money. I have the First Edition, which is fully loaded with some great tech. The power delivery is incredible and it can beat a 100D from a standstill. Personally, I think the external styling and interior are much better than all electric vehicles currently available. I have already used the foot-gesture to open the rear hatch with both hands full of groceries and it works great! The self-driving mode is excellent and maintains the center of the lane and auto-stops and accelerates nearly identical to a Tesla. Overall, I love this car/sub/crossover and my z06 is seriously getting jealous sitting in the garage. The only downside I see thus far is the infotainment center controls. The interface looks great visually but is laggy and rather disorganized. I'm sure Jaguar will fix this with some over the air software updates. Mileage will vary. I live in a mountain area and I get about 200 miles to a full charge on eco mode. In performance mode and blasting off at every stop light reduces total miles significantly.

This is the most comfortable SUV I've ever driven. Other than the F-Type, it is also the car that is the most fun to drive. It's so quick, with smooth acceleration, that before you know it, you're at 60 MPH. My wife and I absolutely love this car.

Everything works just like a normal gas vehicle, so there's nothing new to learn, except for the locations of EV chargers! The fit, finish, and material quality are superb, and the performance is absolutely stunning. In my experience, the real-life range appears to be just over 200 miles, but that's without any attempt to be frugal on my part. I recently did a ~350 mile trip home when I picked it up, stopping twice for approximately 25 minutes each time to top up the battery. It was easy and hassle-free!

After selling thousands of new luxury cars from brands like Lexus, Acura, Maserati, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, and Range Rover for 15 years, I thought I had seen it all. But then, while getting my F-Pace serviced, I saw the showroom model of the I Pace and fell in love. It's like a stealth fighter with an attractive front spoiler and a price tag that's half of Tesla's. With its sub-4 second acceleration, gorgeous control stack, and selectable drive modes, it appeals to everyone from crossover utility intenders to the middle-aged crowd. I can charge it to over 200 miles of range in just an hour with the must-have 240v upgrade charger. The warranty covers the 90kw, 550ft lbs of torque battery system for 8 years or 100,000 miles against 20% degradation in range. I love its seamless innovation and limited build that keeps the Porsche/AMG crowd guessing. The steering begs you to do a race track event. Lastly, Jaguar's I Pace Concierge Service provides lifetime synthetic oil changes, transmission fluids, belts, and replacement graphene/titanium plugs (worth $10,000) and unlimited complimentary replacement of the iridium dual sports converter and tuned active output exhaust system (even if you bump a curb or damage it for any reason at all) valued at $12,250! Please note that all items mentioned after the * are a little electric vehicle joke, as there are no plugs, exhaust, transmission, or need for oil changes. Gotcha!

I purchased a 2019 I-Pace because I was looking for a luxury EV. I was impressed with the design and the sales reps at my local dealership. In fact, I was so impressed that I purchased a second vehicle, a F-Type that same week. However, I did experience some issues with the I-Pace within two months of purchase. The car began to shake, not turn on even with a full battery, stall, brakes malfunctioning, and every warning light being illuminated. Despite four separate visits to the service department, Jaguar could not find the problem. They even recommended I lemon law it. It was frustrating to read reviews and discover that even Jaguar had severe concerns that the quality of their vehicles was sub par. To this date, I am still having issues and my lemon law claim is still pending. I hope Jaguar can address these issues and improve their product.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your car. It must have been really frustrating to have so many faults so soon after buying it. I hope that the mechanic is able to fix everything and that you can start enjoying your new car soon. It's disappointing to hear that the customer service hasn't been up to scratch, but I'm sure they will do everything they can to make it right for you.

I would strongly advise against getting one of these. Our experience with Pivotal has been nothing but trouble. Shortly after taking delivery, the car stopped charging midway. This caused us significant inconvenience during our holiday in Devon, as we were unable to recharge the car to come home. Despite the efforts of AA breakdown and a Jaguar JLR technician, the car remained unusable until Monday morning. This resulted in lost pay and other disadvantages. Although the technician was able to update some software and get the car charging again, it had to be taken into the garage on Wednesday and remains there. We are due to return to Devon this afternoon, but we have no car. Guy Salmon has offered us a petrol car, but we are not interested in this option. As long-time electric car owners, we have never experienced such difficulties with Nissan or Hyundai. To make matters worse, the Jaguar customer relationship centre is currently closed and we are unable to get through on the phone. Given the amount we have paid for this car, we are extremely disappointed and stressed by this situation.

The car's charging issues have been thoroughly investigated and it has been determined that it can only be charged using a DC fast charger, rather than a 220v charger at home. This information has been confirmed by the dealership.
