2008 Ford F-250 sd problems
The Ford Super Duty (also known as the Ford F-Series Super Duty) is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb (3,900 kg), Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option.
Ford also offers a medium-duty version of the F-Series (F-650 and F-750), which is sometimes branded as the Super Duty, but is another chassis variant. The Super Duty pickup truck also served as the basis for the Ford Excursion full-sized SUV.
The Super Duty trucks and chassis-cabs are assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake, Ohio. Prior to 2016, medium-duty trucks were assembled in Mexico under the Blue Diamond Truck joint venture with Navistar International.

Common 2008 Ford F-250 sd problems
Based on the complaints from owners of the 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty, several common problems have been identified:
- Engine Troubles:
- The 2008 F-250 experienced various engine issues, including EGR failure, stalling engine while driving, and sudden loss of power. These problems were particularly severe in the 2006 model. Engine troubles can be costly and inconvenient for drivers, leading to significant repair bills and potential safety hazards.
- Suspension Issues:
- Suspension problems were notable in the 2006 and 2011 models of the Ford F-250. These issues could result in an inability to control the vehicle, leading to safety concerns and expensive repairs. Specific suspension issues included death wobble, hyper shaking, and shaking with a loss of control, all of which compromise the driving experience and safety of the vehicle.
- Steering Difficulties:
- Steering problems were reported in several versions of the Ford F-250, with the 2017 model being particularly affected. Steering issues, such as wobbling when steering and locking up, can pose serious safety risks for drivers. These control issues are closely related to suspension difficulties and can lead to dangerous driving conditions if not addressed promptly.
- High Pressure Fuel Pump Wiring:
- The high-pressure fuel pump wiring in the 2008-2010 Ford F-250 diesel models was prone to chafing, leading to a no-start condition. This issue could cause the engine not to start, resulting in significant inconvenience for drivers. Repairing or replacing the damaged wiring harness was necessary to resolve this problem effectively.
- Loss of Power Due to Intercooler Couplers:
- The intercooler couplers in the 2008-2010 Ford F-250 diesel models were susceptible to failure, causing a significant loss of power due to leaking boost pressure. When these couplers failed, the engine would run without proper boost pressure, affecting performance. Preventative measures and timely repairs were essential to avoid this issue.
These common problems with the 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty highlight the importance of regular maintenance, prompt repairs, and awareness of potential issues to ensure the longevity and safety of the vehicle.

- Manufacturer: Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC
- Components: STEERING
- Summary: Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.
- Consequence: If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.
- Manufacturer: TRUXXX MANUFACTURING, LLC
