2007 Ford F-250 sd problems
The Ford Super Duty (also known as the Ford F-Series Super Duty) is a series of heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by the Ford Motor Company since the 1999 model year. Slotted above the consumer-oriented Ford F-150, the Super Duty trucks are an expansion of the Ford F-Series range, from F-250 to the F-600. The F-250 through F-450 are offered as pickup trucks, while the F-350 through F-600 are offered as chassis cabs.
Rather than adapting the lighter-duty F-150 truck for heavier use, Super Duty trucks have been designed as a dedicated variant of the Ford F-Series. The heavier-duty chassis components allow for heavier payloads and towing capabilities. With a GVWR over 8,500 lb (3,900 kg), Super Duty pickups are Class 2 and 3 trucks, while chassis-cab trucks are offered in Classes 3, 4, 5, and 6. The model line also offers Ford Power Stroke V8 diesel engines as an option.
Ford also offers a medium-duty version of the F-Series (F-650 and F-750), which is sometimes branded as the Super Duty, but is another chassis variant. The Super Duty pickup truck also served as the basis for the Ford Excursion full-sized SUV.
The Super Duty trucks and chassis-cabs are assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake, Ohio. Prior to 2016, medium-duty trucks were assembled in Mexico under the Blue Diamond Truck joint venture with Navistar International.

Common 2007 Ford F-250 sd problems
The 2003-2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty has been known to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. Here are some of the most frequently reported issues:
- Suspension Issues: Suspension issues have been reported to be a problem in the 2003-2007 Ford F-250, which can lead to an inability to control the car for a driver. These issues can also include expensive repairs, which may not last long if the vehicle is prone to wear and tear on the suspension.
- Steering Difficulties: Steering difficulties have appeared in several versions of the 2003-2007 Ford F-250, including wobbles when steering and locking up the steering wheel. These control issues also correlate with the suspension difficulties mentioned earlier.
- Coolant Leaks: Coolant leaks have been reported in the 2003-2007 Ford F-250 due to a defective thermostat bypass. If the thermostat bypass is faulty, it allows too much coolant into the engine when it’s cold, causing pressure spikes in the cooling system, which can cause leaks in various parts of the engine.
- Fuel Injection Pump Failure: There have been reports of fuel injection pumps failing in these trucks, which is costly to fix due to the amount of labor involved in replacing them.
- Ignition Coil Failure: Ignition coils have been known to fail in the 2003-2007 Ford F-250, which can be caused by carbon build-up in the intake manifold. This can make it difficult for spark plug wires to deliver sufficient voltage through them, preventing ignition coils from working properly.
- Blower Motor Failure: The blower motor, which handles the vehicle's heating and cooling system, has been reported to fail in the 2003-2007 Ford F-250. This issue can cause problems with the air conditioning and heating system, making it difficult to cool down the vehicle in hot weather conditions if driving long distances.
- Spark Plugs Ejection: The 2003-2007 Ford F-250 has had problems with spark plugs shooting out of its cylinder head, which can be catastrophic to the engine and very expensive to fix. The problem is a design flaw with the truck's engine that causes the spark plugs to eject due to weak and short threads used on the cylinder head.
These are some of the most common problems reported by owners of the 2003-2007 Ford F-250 Super Duty. It is essential to be aware of these issues before purchasing this vehicle, as they can be costly and inconvenient to fix. Proper preventive maintenance and monitoring can help detect issues early on and avoid costly large repairs down the road.

- Components: STEERING,SUSPENSION,STRUCTURE,WHEELS
- Summary: I WOULD LIKE TO OFFICIALLY SUBMIT A COMPLAINT ABOUT OUR FORD F250 SUPER DUTY TRUCK. THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH IT AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX IT. WE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH IT FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS AND THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED! WE ARE EXPERIENCING TURBULENT WOBBLING WITH THIS TRUCK AND I CAN ASSURE YOU THIS IS NOT NORMAL! THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED 2 DAYS AGO ON MAY 26, 2013! I HAVE CHILDREN AND FEEL THAT OUR LIVES WERE ESPECIALLY IN DANGER WHEN WE RODE IN THIS TRUCK AS WE THOUGHT THIS ISSUE WAS RESOLVED AND NO LONGER EXISTED. AS WE WERE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WE DROVE OVER AN UNEVEN SECTION OF THE HIGHWAY AND OUR TRUCK SUDDENLY STARTED SHAKING DANGEROUSLY OUT OF CONTROL! THANKFULLY MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKE TO SLOW IT DOWN, OTHERWISE WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED! THERE WAS TRAFFIC EVERYWHERE AND WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH NOT TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT! THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW HOURS LATER WHEN WE AGAIN DROVE OVER AN UNEVEN SECTION OF THE INTERSTATE. I HAVE EXPERIENCED ENOUGH OF THESE THREATENING EPISODES AND I AM VERY CONCERNED AS THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND PEOPLE CAN AND WILL LOSE THEIR LIVES OVER THIS IF THIS IS NOT RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY! I HAVE CONTACTED FORD HEADQUARTERS TO SUBMIT A FORMAL COMPLAINT AND THEY MERELY TOLD ME TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAS UNRESOLVED MY ISSUE. I TRUST THAT YOU WILL TAKE THIS COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY AS LIVES ARE AT STAKE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. *TR
STEERING,SUSPENSION PROBLEM

- Summary: DRIVING MY 2007 F250 SD AND HIT A BUMP, FRONT END STARTED TO SHIMMY. SLOWED DOWN AND THE SHIMMY STOPPED. HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT THE FRONT END SHIMMY. SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT, IT HAS OCCURED NUMEROUS TIMES. MY TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT 87000 MILES AND THE SHIMMY HAPPENS NUMEROUS TIMES A DAY WHEN I HIT BUMPS/DIPS IN THE ROAD. DIESEL SHOP TELLS ME TO KEEP TIRES INFLATED PROPERLY, ROTATE AND BALANCE TIRES AS WELL AS PROPER ALIGNMENT AND HAVE THE STEERING DAMPNER REPLACED. STEERING DAMPNER IS BRAND NEW (3 MONTHS OLD), TIRES ARE AT PROPER INFLATION AND BALANCED AS WELL AS ALIGNMENT DONE AND THE FRONT END STILL VIBRATES, SOMETIMES VIOLENTLY TO WHERE IT IS TOUGH TO CONTROL UNTIL SPEED DROPS UNDER 40 MPH. STILL WAITING ON A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE AS THE SHIMMY IS DAILY AND IS GETTING WORSE AND I GET THE SAME TEXTBOOK ANSWER FROM FORD EVERYTIME I CALL (TIRES, INFLATION, ALIGNMENT, STEERING DAMPNER). I'M AFRAID THAT THE VIBRATION WILL GET TO THE POINT THAT PARTS WILL START BECOMING LOOSE/BREAK AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *TR

- VIN: 1FTSW21577E
- Components: STEERING,SUSPENSION
- Summary: FORD F250 STEERING OSCILLATION. I KNOW THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION, AND THE MATTER IS NOW CLOSED, BUT HOW CAN THIS BE. THE SIMPLE FACT THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE IS THE CURE ALL? I CURRENTLY HAVE THE STOCK TIRES STILL, AND SET TO THE FACTORY REQUESTED PRESSURE. AND IT WILL GIVE ME "DEATH WOBBLE" MANY TIMES IN THE COURSE OF THE TRIP. TO THE POINT THAT I EVEN HAVE TO PULL OVER TO GET IT TO STOP. I HAVE THE ENTIRE FRONT END CHECKED OUT BY A SHOP AND THE REPORT WAS THERE IS NO WORN OUT PARTS. IT IS A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT TRE STYLE BALL JOINTS DONT WORK WELL AS TRACK BAR ENDS, YET FORD KEEPS USING THEM. THE COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ARE NOT WRONG. I AM AFRAID THE LET ME PARENTS DRIVE THE TRUCK AND THEY WERE THE MAIN REASON WE PURCHASED IT. *TR

STEERING,SUSPENSION PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2009-12-31
- VIN: 1FTSX21537E
- Components: STEERING,SUSPENSION
- Summary: I OWN AND DRIVE A FORD F250 SUPER DUTY 4-WHEEL DRIVE TRUCK. I HAVE ON MORE THAN TWENTY (20) OCCASIONS EXPERIENCED A SEVERE SUSPENSION AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION, CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. THIS OCCURRED DURING THE PERIOD 5/15/2009 THROUGH 1/15/2010. THIS ONLY OCCURS AT SPEEDS OVER 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I CROSS OVER UNEVEN ROAD SURFACES, LIKE AN OVERPASS OR A CHANGE IN PAVEMENT TYPE. THE VIBRATION IS SO SEVERE THAT THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT IS TO SLOW DRAMATICALLY TO LESS THAN 30 MPH AND MOVE OUT OF THE TRAFFIC LANES. THE VIBRATION DOES NOT STOP UNLESS I SLOW THE VEHICLE. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD WITHOUT SLOWING DOWN, BUT THE VIBRATION CONTINUED FOR MORE THAN 45 SECONDS. I HAVE ADDRESSED THIS WITH MY LOCAL FORD DEALER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE EVENT. ON ONE OCCASION THEY COULD NOT ADDRESS IT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE A TRUCK SPECIALIST ON SITE THAT DAY. MY VEHICLE IS AT THE FORD DEALER TODAY TO HAVE THIS ADDRESSED, BUT BASED ON PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, I DO NOT FEEL THEY WILL ACKNOWLEDGE OR ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEMS FIRST OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 28,000 MILES. ALL SERVICE ON MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN PERFORMED AT FORD DEALERS, SO THEY HAVE RECORDS OF MY COMPLAINTS. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING FROM SPEAKING TO SEVERAL PEOPLE AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER THAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE RELATED TO A SENSOR IN THE REAR-END WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM. ALL OF THESE EVENTS OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN 2-WHEEL DRIVE MODE. I AM GREATLY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHER MOTORISTS WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF THE ISSUES CONTINUE, IT IS LIKELY THAT THE VIBRATION WILL CAUSE ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE LEADING TO AN ACCIDENT, AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IT IS LIKELY TO INVOLVE INJURIES OR DEATH. *TR
2007 Ford F-250 sd recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2007 Ford F-250 sd.
- Manufacturer: Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC
- Components: STEERING
- Summary: Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.
- Consequence: If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS

THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WAS SHIPPED WITH A SUBCOMPONENT (SLIDER) THAT MAY EXPERIENCE DEFORMATION. A MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH WITH A DEFORMED SLIDER MAY MALFUNCTION CAUSING THE TURN SIGNAL, TAIL LIGHTS, HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL FLASHERS AND/OR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO ACTIVATE.
- Consequence: NON-FUNCTIONING LIGHTS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SWITCHES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 15, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AT 1-866-436-7332.
- Manufacturer: TRUXXX MANUFACTURING, LLC
- Components: EQUIPMENT
- Summary: TRUXXX IS RECALLING 338 AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT WELDED 3" LIFT BLOCKS FOR REAR SUSPENSIONS, PART NO. 206073, INCLUDED IN SUSPENSION KIT NOS. 108035 AND 108036, SOLD BETWEEN JULY 26, 2007 AND MARCH 4, 2008, FOR USE ON FORD MY 2005-2008 F-250 SUPERDUTY 4X4 LIGHT TRUCKS. COMPRESSIVE FORCES OF THE WELDED LIFT BLOCKS RESULTING FROM FORESEEABLE AND EXCESS VEHICLE PAYLOADS AS WELL AS OVER-TIGHTENING OF THE U-BOLTS DURING INSTALLATION MAY DISTORT THE BLOCKS, REDUCING THE INTENDED CLAMPING FORCE OF THE U-BOLTS.
- Consequence: THIS COULD ALLOW POSSIBLE SHIFTING AND DAMAGE TO THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT AND AXLE.
- Remedy: TRUXXX WILL NOTIFY CUSTOMERS/INSTALLERS AND WILL REPLACE AFFECTED WELDED LIFT BLOCKS WITH EITHER NON-WELDED ALUMINUM OR CAST IRON BLOCKS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT APRIL 16, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TRUXXX AT 1-800-381-8320.
