2021 Bmw M440i problems
The second generation of the BMW 4 Series consists of the BMW G22 (coupé version) along with the BMW G23 (convertible version) and BMW G26 (5-door liftback version, marketed as the Gran Coupé) compact executive cars. The G22 4 Series was launched in June 2020 and succeeds the F32 4 Series.
The G22 will be produced alongside - and shares many features with - the G20 3 Series. As with the G20 3 Series range, the 4 Series are powered by turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. Unlike its predecessor, the new 4 Series has a significant departure in design from the 3 Series in order to distinguish between the two models and to move the 4 Series upscale. The most notable of the design changes is the large kidney grille at the front which was inspired by the 1930s BMW 328.
Development
The G22 4 Series was unveiled in concept form as the BMW Concept 4, at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show and previewing the next generation of the 4 Series. The most notable design feature is the large vertical kidney grille which is inspired by the BMW 328 and 3.0 CSi respectively. The grille has a 3D pattern design to give it a more pronounced look. Other notable design features of the concept were a pronounced duck-tail spoiler at the rear, thin wing mirrors made from a single piece of aluminium and open headlamps, which have no covering over their 3D lighting elements and are instead embedded into the body of the car.

Common 2021 Bmw M440i problems
The BMW M440i xDrive is a luxury sports coupe that has been praised for its ride and handling, as well as its wide range of dynamic personality. However, there are some common problems that have been reported by owners of this car.
One of the most significant issues is a recall related to the starter generator cable connection, which could potentially result in a fire if left unchecked. This recall was performed by Chandlers of Brighton, who also gave the car a full health check and sent the owner a video of the inspection. Despite this recall, the aftersales treatment from Chandlers was reported to be flawless, providing a positive experience overall.
Another issue that has been reported is the weight of the car, which can make it feel heavy and unresponsive in corners. This is due to the added weight of pedestrian safety features, such as frontal protection systems and ADAS, which are necessary for modern cars. While BMW can still make great sports cars, they have to do so with more weight, which can affect the driving experience.
The steering of the M440i has also been criticized for exhibiting unusual rubber-band-like qualities at full-tilt, making it tough to predict how much moving the wheel will affect the car's direction. This can make the driving experience less engaging and enjoyable.
The brakes in the M440i have also been criticized for being extremely grabby, making for an unpleasant experience around town. This can be especially noticeable in stop-and-go traffic, where the brakes can become overly sensitive.
Finally, the 48-volt mild-hybrid system in the M440i has been reported to cause some issues with the powertrain, although the specific details of these issues are not provided in the search results.
In conclusion, while the BMW M440i xDrive is a capable luxury sports coupe, there are some common problems that have been reported by owners. These include a recall related to the starter generator cable connection, the weight of the car, issues with the steering and brakes, and potential problems with the powertrain. However, with proper maintenance and care, these issues can be addressed and the car can provide a enjoyable and refined driving experience.

Is an M440i a real M car?
Let's turn the temperature down a bit. As much as I hate to say it (I'm not sure I do, actually), BMW categorizes the M340i as an M car. This also includes the M440i and Gran Coupe, along with loads of other models. Audi marketing does still keep S and RS separate.
How many miles per gallon does the M440i get?
The six-cylinder M440i is rated at 22 mpg city and 31 highway. It's worth noting that the 2024 430i xDrive returned 34 mpg on our 200-mile, 75-mph highway fuel economy route. For more information about the 4-series' fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
Is M440i comfortable?
As a sporty, four-seater coupe, there's no denying that the best place to enjoy the M440i Coupe is from the front seats. These seats are comfortable enough to enjoy on long drives yet supportive enough to keep you in place during spirited cornering, and the thick-rimmed M steering wheel provides great driver control.

turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six
The M440i is powered by the latest version of BMW's silky-smooth—and very muscular—turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, which is assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system to make 386 hp. Both engines are responsive and capable.
