Toyota Corolla cross hybrid problems
The Toyota Corolla Cross (Japanese: トヨタ・カローラクロス, Hepburn: Toyota Karōra Kurosu) is a compact crossover SUV (C-segment) produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota since 2020. Adopting the Corolla nameplate, it is positioned as a more practical and larger alternative to the C-HR and built on the same TNGA-C (GA-C) platform as the E210 series Corolla. By size, the Corolla Cross is positioned between the smaller C-HR—with which it shares a platform—and the larger RAV4, in Toyota's global crossover SUV lineup.
It was first unveiled in Thailand in July 2020 along with other Southeast Asian markets and Taiwan in the same year, while its introduction in other markets started in 2021.
The twin model of the Corolla Cross, called the Toyota Frontlander (Chinese: 锋兰达; pinyin: Fēnglándá), is available exclusively in China and was introduced in late 2021.

- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-22
- Date Complaint: 2024-09-25
- VIN: 7MUFBABG3PV
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: Exiting freeway and decelerating from 65mph speed to come to a stop, the exit veers the to left and slightly uphill. At around the speed of 35 mph the car brake began to actually give resistance and I could feel it actually start applying pressure back onto my foot as if deliberately trying to accelerate. Was unable to get brake to go push down even with applying more force than usual. Very high risk situation with stationary cars and an intersection nearing. Picked up my foot a slammed my brake as hard as possible. The break did finally push through with great force, however mechanical noises from the engine also occurred while breaking hard (honestly thought my transmission was falling out based on the noise) . I almost collided with the car in front of me due to my delayed stop and was at risk of being rear ended due to having a car also immediately behind me that did not appear to anticipate my abrupt stop. I was so shaken by the incident I called my partner immediately because I felt the vehicle was unsafe to drive. I have called the dealership and reported the incident. They asked to bring my car in for evaluation and let me know there is a recall they will assess for. There first available appointment is in 3 days and they are unwilling to provide a loaner car, which is terrifying considering how dangerous the situation is. They didn’t care about this concern

This is a great vehicle! Although, for the XSE model, the interior could be nicer. Some of the buttons feel a bit clunky. Additionally, the 2023 model is missing the compass feature. However, it maneuvers nicely, rides comfortably, and the mileage is great.

I recently purchased the 22 Corolla Cross LE and opted for the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid. The only difference between the two is the hybrid motor. If you don't mind the interior plastic, this vehicle may be a good fit for you. However, I must say that the SE trim has a cramped back seat and no power liftgate. If you're looking for a more powerful option, consider the RAV4 hybrid instead. It's only a couple of grand more and drives like a hybrid. Don't waste your money, give the RAV4 hybrid a call!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my XSE trim that I financed about 4 months ago. In the first month, I had to call Toyota road assistance twice to send someone to turn it on because the battery had died. They were able to jump it twice, but unfortunately, it still wasn't working, so I took it to Toyota service and they replaced the battery with a new one. In the second month, I noticed a crack in my car's windshield and asked Toyota service to replace it with an OEM windshield. Unfortunately, they told me it would take months to get the OEM part, so I had to agree to an aftermarket one. I even reached out to Safelite to see if they could help me find an OEM windshield, but they told me the same thing. I understand that it can be difficult to find original parts for a 2023 hybrid, but it was still frustrating and disappointing to buy a car that didn't have enough support. Thank you for listening to my experience.

The vehicle is perfectly suitable if you're looking for a basic hybrid. However, my disappointment lies with the dealership rather than the vehicle.
