The Mercedes-Benz EQE (V295) is a battery electric executive car produced by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Group. It is part of the Mercedes-Benz EQ family, and was presented at the Munich Motor Show 2021. The only model available at launch has been the rear-motor EQE 350. Its engine has a peak power of 215 kW (288 hp), and it has a range of up to 660 km (410 mi). More variants are said to follow later, including a 4Matic AWD dual-motor setup with a peak engine power output of up to 500 kW (671 hp). The U.S. will get one version simply called the Mercedes AMG EQE which is the same 617-hp EQE 53 4matic+ seen in Europe.

In February 2022, the high-performance Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 & 53 4MATIC+ versions were unveiled. Changes include power bumps of up to 687 PS (505 kW; 678 hp), 1,000 N⋅m (738 lb⋅ft) of torque, upgraded internals and AMG touches inside and out.

Common Mercedes-benz Eqe350 problems

Common Problems with Mercedes-Benz EQE350 Cars:

  • Software Errors: A high-voltage battery software error was identified in the Mercedes-Benz EQE, which could increase the risk of injury. The high-voltage battery monitoring system does not alert the driver of a battery malfunction, and Mercedes dealers were instructed to update the battery management system software free of charge.
  • Fires in Loaner Cars: A Mercedes-Benz EQE350 loaner car caught fire and burned to a crisp inside a Florida homeowner's garage, severely damaging the building. The fire was not related to charging, and the investigation into the exact cause of the fire is ongoing. Mercedes-Benz issued a statement regarding the incident and is working with officials and experts to determine the root cause.
  • Error Messages Preventing Driving: Mercedes EQE owners have reported issues with error messages that prevent the vehicle from driving. In one instance, the owner was unable to drive the vehicle and had to call the dealer for assistance. The issue was resolved by turning off the car, locking it, and waiting for 5 minutes.
  • Limited Availability of Hyperscreen Infotainment System: The Mercedes-Benz EQE350 is available with a Hyperscreen infotainment system, but it is not yet confirmed to be coming to the UK. Mercedes EQE 300 AMG-Line cars that will be coming to the UK will get subtly pinstriped wood inserts on the dashboard instead.
  • Expensive Compared to Traditional Saloon Mainstays: The Mercedes-Benz EQE350 is billed as an electric E-Class, but it is significantly more expensive than Merc’s traditional saloon mainstay. A basic EQE 300 is around £20,000 pricier than even the plug-in hybrid diesel version of the E-Class.
