One of the most common issues is related to the hybrid system. Some owners have reported a "Check Hybrid System" warning, which indicates that the hybrid system is not functioning correctly. This issue can cause the vehicle to run only on the engine, and the hybrid system will not work. While the cause of this problem is not always clear, it may be related to issues with the hybrid battery or other components of the hybrid system.
Another common problem with the Lexus RX450h is related to the battery. Some owners have reported that the battery goes flat after a few weeks of not being used, which can be inconvenient, especially in a hybrid vehicle that cannot be jump-started. Instead, the battery must be trickle-charged, which can be time-consuming and require the assistance of a breakdown service.
Suspension problems are also common in the Lexus RX450h, particularly in models that have high mileage. Some owners have reported leaks in the air suspension system, while others have reported that the compressor wears out quickly and needs to be replaced. These issues can cause the vehicle to ride roughly and may require costly repairs.
Non-engine electrical issues are also common in the Lexus RX450h. Some owners have reported problems with the media system and windows, which can be frustrating and require the assistance of an auto electrician to diagnose and repair.
