The Kia Carnival (Korean: 기아 카니발) is a minivan manufactured by Kia since 1998. It was marketed globally under various nameplates, prominently as the Kia Sedona.
The first generation Carnival was introduced in January 1998, and was marketed in a single, short wheelbase version. Second generation models were marketed (2006–2014) in short and long wheelbase variants. A rebadged variant of the second generation was offered in North America as the Hyundai Entourage (2007–2009). Beginning in 2010, the second generation model received updated equipment, including Kia's corporate Tiger Nose grille, as introduced by its then new design chief, Peter Schreyer. Kia introduced its third generation minivan in 2014, solely in a long wheelbase format. The fourth generation was introduced in 2020, when Kia also began using the Carnival nameplate worldwide.
First generation (KV-II; 1998)
The first generation model was manufactured and marketed differently for specific regions, including under a joint venture in the Chinese market with Dongfeng Yueda Kia, as well as the Naza Ria in Malaysia.
In Indonesia and the Philippines, both Carnival/Sedona names were used. Initially introduced as the Carnival in 2001, from 2003 onwards, it was renamed as the Sedona.

- Summary: The valve over eventually leaks oil that drips down on to the alternator. This cause the electrical system to fail, the battery and brake lights come on. Then slowly all lights come on as battery shuts down. This is a known issue with this engine. This happened to me yesterday while driving at night leaving the car unable to drive. When the battery completely shuts down you cannot even move the vehicle out of Park, as electric is needed to disengage the the shifter from park, so you cannot even push the vehicle off of the road. Hyundai has a recall for the exact same engine in the Veracruz. - Summary: The contact owned a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another driver alerted her that there were flames coming from underneath the vehicle. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over and exited the vehicle while it caught fire. No injury was sustained. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The contact was not aware if there were fire department and police reports filed. The vehicle was towed to her sister's residence and was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V061000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 207,000. - Summary: The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH in a parking lot and making a left turn, he heard an abnormal noise coming from the front passenger’s side tire and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park the vehicle safely. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the insurance facility and then towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the front passenger’s side control arm, the front driver’s side control arm, and the constant velocity axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. - Summary: I was driving on the street and heard a snap I then pulled over contacted a tow company and brought it to the nearest mechanic shop was told that my control arms are so rusted that they snapped on both sides left and right one cracked completely through the other 1 Has just a crack but was not completely broke had to pay for the repairs at $2677 later to find out that in 2014 a recall was made recall 115. I just purchased this car however records don't show this as a active recall so either it was serviced and not properly fixed therefore still making it dangerous for my family and others or was never completed and being sold as a unsafe vehicle to my sister whom I brought this vehicle from. When she bought it nothing about this recall 115 was listed so she was not aware when selling this van to us.

SINCE I AM AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CARS, I KNEW THE PROBLEM WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND IF I UNPLUG THE BATTERY THIS SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM FASTER! WITH A LOT OF SMOKE, I WAS ABLE TO UNPLUG THE CABLES OF THE BATTERY. THEN, I DID HELP MY KIDS TO GET OUT OF THE VAN' THEY WERE VERY SCARED AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO HELP! I CHECKED ON THE CAR AND I DID FIND THE SMOKE WAS LESS AND AFTER COUPLE MINUTES STOPPED COMPLETELY. SITUATION COULD BE WORSE THAN THAT, THE VAN WAS FULL OF GAS PARKED IN MIDDLE OF OTHER 4 CARS, 15 FT FROM OUR HOMES. I DID SEE THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE (ABS) MODULE WAS BURNED-OUT! I DID ORDER A USED ABS MODULE FROM EBAY (SEE ATTACHED FILE) AND REPLACED THE OLD ONE. UNFORTUNATELY, IT DID NOT WORK! MANY LIGHTS IN THE DASHBOARD APPEARED (BREAK, ABS, ENGINE) AND LOST SOME FUNCTIONS OF THE DRIVING LIKE CRUISE AND SMOOTH ENGINE SOUND! AFTER VISITING MANY LOCAL REPAIRERS, I DID CALL THE LOCAL DEALER AND ASKED FOR NEW MODULE AND GOT QUOTE ON NEW ABS MODULE (PART ONLY COSTS ABOUT $2500). AFTER ABOUT A MONTH FROM THE ACCIDENT DAY, I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM HYUNDAI COMPANY IN USA WITH TWO RECALLS IN WHICH ONE OF THEM SAID ABS MODULE MAY SHORT CIRCUIT AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WITHIN THE ABS MODULE MAY CAUSE AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE, EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, INCREASING THE RISK OF AN INJURY. CONTACTED THE COMPANY BUT THEY DID NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEMS.

(Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Hyundai Entourage vehicles manufactured from February 16, 2006, through June 30, 2008 and sold in, or currently registered in, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, the front lower control arms may fracture due to corrosion resulting from exposure to road salt and water.
- Consequence: A fractured control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the degree of corrosion of the front lower control arms, and will either rustproof or replace them, free of charge. The recall began on January 3, 2014. Owners may contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151 or by email at [email protected]. Hyundai's recall number is 115.

The minivan is very well-built and performs just as well as a Japanese-built Honda Odyssey. In fact, it's even roomier and bigger, with fantastic options available at a competitive price. The smooth and quiet ride only adds to its value.

I have taken my van on two long distance trips and I am very satisfied with its comfort and handling. It's fun to drive and the trip computer and rear sensors are great features. Although, I do wish I had upgraded to receive the power gate as the back does not always close properly when loaded. Overall, I highly recommend this van!

This van is definitely worth a test drive. What's great about it is that most of the standard features are options on other vans or not available at all. For instance, it comes with standard traction control, standard stability control, and power sliding side doors. We were only looking for the base SE model, but with the owner loyalty rebate, we were able to get an SE with the PE package, and it has been nothing short of awesome. It comes with a rear DVD, 6-disc CD player with 13 speakers and surround sound, and heated front seats. We previously returned a 01 town & country on a lease, and the sticker price between them was $1890.00. The town & country only had air conditioning, power windows, antilock brakes, and a cassette player. We didn't even consider Honda or Toyota because they can't match the warranty.

I have had two other types of mini vans and this van drives and performs by far above the rest. It has tremendous room and the ability to change the seating capabilities with one hand. This makes it a great family vehicle. The safety features are a comfort, especially with poor weather approaching and our family having a new baby. Thank you Hyundai, this is a fantastic asset.

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Entourage minivan. While I was initially drawn to the Hyundai brand, unfortunately my experience with this vehicle has not been great. I've had to deal with a number of issues, including a broken DVD player, a broken armrest, and multiple problems with the brakes and ignition. Additionally, I've had ongoing battery and wiring issues that have been difficult to diagnose and fix. The powered side doors are a nice feature, but they can be unreliable in cold weather. Overall, I've been disappointed with this vehicle and would caution others against purchasing it. Thank you for taking the time to read my experience.

I paid 10,000 to 15,000 dollars for my vehicle, which provided me with good value for my money compared to the Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. However, I regret purchasing this particular vehicle as it has not met my expectations. The after-sales service has been disappointing, despite their advertised warranty. The auto sliding doors are frequently jammed, the instrumentation panel is unreliable, and the cruise control does not work properly. Additionally, the steering wheel has a sharp edge. These issues have led me to believe that this vehicle is not worth the 31,000 dollars we spent on it.

I've taken my van to two different dealerships for a total of five visits, driving over 500 miles out of the 3000 miles I've owned it. Unfortunately, it has needed a radiator replacement and has had numerous leaks in the heating system. It's been towed twice and driven back three times for these leaks. I reached out to Hyundai consumer assistance and while they offered to help the dealership fix the vehicle, they did not offer a replacement. Despite these issues, I still believe this is a great van, and I'm hopeful that the dealership will be able to resolve the remaining problems.

This car has a defect with the starter and wiring, as well as an issue with the antitheft system. However, it is important to note that these issues have been ongoing since the time of purchase. While the Key Hyundai service department has been unable to resolve the issue, we remain confident in our assessment of the vehicle.
