The Kia Carnival (Korean: 기아 카니발) is a minivan manufactured by Kia since 1998. It was marketed globally under various nameplates, prominently as the Kia Sedona.
The first generation Carnival was introduced in January 1998, and was marketed in a single, short wheelbase version. Second generation models were marketed (2006–2014) in short and long wheelbase variants. A rebadged variant of the second generation was offered in North America as the Hyundai Entourage (2007–2009). Beginning in 2010, the second generation model received updated equipment, including Kia's corporate Tiger Nose grille, as introduced by its then new design chief, Peter Schreyer. Kia introduced its third generation minivan in 2014, solely in a long wheelbase format. The fourth generation was introduced in 2020, when Kia also began using the Carnival nameplate worldwide.
First generation (KV-II; 1998)
The first generation model was manufactured and marketed differently for specific regions, including under a joint venture in the Chinese market with Dongfeng Yueda Kia, as well as the Naza Ria in Malaysia.
In Indonesia and the Philippines, both Carnival/Sedona names were used. Initially introduced as the Carnival in 2001, from 2003 onwards, it was renamed as the Sedona.

- Summary: The valve over eventually leaks oil that drips down on to the alternator. This cause the electrical system to fail, the battery and brake lights come on. Then slowly all lights come on as battery shuts down. This is a known issue with this engine. This happened to me yesterday while driving at night leaving the car unable to drive. When the battery completely shuts down you cannot even move the vehicle out of Park, as electric is needed to disengage the the shifter from park, so you cannot even push the vehicle off of the road. Hyundai has a recall for the exact same engine in the Veracruz. - Summary: The contact owned a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another driver alerted her that there were flames coming from underneath the vehicle. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over and exited the vehicle while it caught fire. No injury was sustained. The fire department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The contact was not aware if there were fire department and police reports filed. The vehicle was towed to her sister's residence and was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V061000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 207,000. - Summary: The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH in a parking lot and making a left turn, he heard an abnormal noise coming from the front passenger’s side tire and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park the vehicle safely. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the insurance facility and then towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the front passenger’s side control arm, the front driver’s side control arm, and the constant velocity axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. - Summary: I was driving on the street and heard a snap I then pulled over contacted a tow company and brought it to the nearest mechanic shop was told that my control arms are so rusted that they snapped on both sides left and right one cracked completely through the other 1 Has just a crack but was not completely broke had to pay for the repairs at $2677 later to find out that in 2014 a recall was made recall 115. I just purchased this car however records don't show this as a active recall so either it was serviced and not properly fixed therefore still making it dangerous for my family and others or was never completed and being sold as a unsafe vehicle to my sister whom I brought this vehicle from. When she bought it nothing about this recall 115 was listed so she was not aware when selling this van to us.

SINCE I AM AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CARS, I KNEW THE PROBLEM WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND IF I UNPLUG THE BATTERY THIS SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM FASTER! WITH A LOT OF SMOKE, I WAS ABLE TO UNPLUG THE CABLES OF THE BATTERY. THEN, I DID HELP MY KIDS TO GET OUT OF THE VAN' THEY WERE VERY SCARED AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO HELP! I CHECKED ON THE CAR AND I DID FIND THE SMOKE WAS LESS AND AFTER COUPLE MINUTES STOPPED COMPLETELY. SITUATION COULD BE WORSE THAN THAT, THE VAN WAS FULL OF GAS PARKED IN MIDDLE OF OTHER 4 CARS, 15 FT FROM OUR HOMES. I DID SEE THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE (ABS) MODULE WAS BURNED-OUT! I DID ORDER A USED ABS MODULE FROM EBAY (SEE ATTACHED FILE) AND REPLACED THE OLD ONE. UNFORTUNATELY, IT DID NOT WORK! MANY LIGHTS IN THE DASHBOARD APPEARED (BREAK, ABS, ENGINE) AND LOST SOME FUNCTIONS OF THE DRIVING LIKE CRUISE AND SMOOTH ENGINE SOUND! AFTER VISITING MANY LOCAL REPAIRERS, I DID CALL THE LOCAL DEALER AND ASKED FOR NEW MODULE AND GOT QUOTE ON NEW ABS MODULE (PART ONLY COSTS ABOUT $2500). AFTER ABOUT A MONTH FROM THE ACCIDENT DAY, I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM HYUNDAI COMPANY IN USA WITH TWO RECALLS IN WHICH ONE OF THEM SAID ABS MODULE MAY SHORT CIRCUIT AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WITHIN THE ABS MODULE MAY CAUSE AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE, EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, INCREASING THE RISK OF AN INJURY. CONTACTED THE COMPANY BUT THEY DID NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEMS.

(Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Hyundai Entourage vehicles manufactured from February 16, 2006, through June 30, 2008 and sold in, or currently registered in, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. In the affected vehicles, the front lower control arms may fracture due to corrosion resulting from exposure to road salt and water.
- Consequence: A fractured control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the degree of corrosion of the front lower control arms, and will either rustproof or replace them, free of charge. The recall began on January 3, 2014. Owners may contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151 or by email at [email protected]. Hyundai's recall number is 115.

Just wanted to give a quick update on my experience with the Entourage SE after 6 months of ownership. Unfortunately, we have been experiencing periodic check engine light issues, but we have found a simple solution in checking the tightness of the gas cap as suggested in the owner's manual. Despite this minor inconvenience, the van has been absolutely fantastic overall. The kids are thrilled with the DVD player and the power windows on the sliding doors, while my wife and I are enjoying the heated seats as winter approaches. Personally, I am impressed with the horsepower and smooth ride, as well as the helpful backup warning sensor. Thank you for such a great product!

I have over 84,000 miles on the van, and it is a very dependable van. I go everywhere with it, and I mean everywhere. I plan on keeping it as long as I can. Everything works great. I chose the Entourage over Dodge, Chevy, Ford, etc.

I must say, I was really impressed with my Hyundai when I got rear-ended on my way to work one morning. Even though I had only had my van for three months, it held up really well. I was stopped for traffic at a red light when the other car hit me at around 45 mph. While his car was totaled, mine only had a scuffed and torn up bumper, which unfortunately destroyed all the electrical equipment installed in the bumper for the back-up system. I was really impressed with the minimal amount of damage to my vehicle, especially since safety was a big feature for me when I purchased the Hyundai. It definitely exceeded my expectations!

If you're in the market for an affordable, fully loaded minivan, I highly recommend checking out the Entourage. My family and I absolutely love ours, and we have friends who feel the same way about theirs. The only downside is that it's not the most fuel-efficient vehicle out there. However, it's an excellent choice for families. I suggest test driving both the Entourage and a Honda and comparing the costs. After doing so, I'm confident you'll see why I recommend this vehicle. By the way, my extended family (including my brother-in-law, grandparents, and myself) have purchased a total of seven Hyundais.

On June 6th, I purchased a car which unfortunately had some issues. Despite my initial disappointment, I took it back to the dealer the same day to have it fixed. However, the steering wheel continued to vibrate even after the tires were balanced and replaced. The dealer tried several solutions over the next two months, as directed by Hyundai, but the issue persisted. After some investigation, the dealer's mechanic found excessive play in the hub and installed a new hub assembly on the passenger side. Although the shaking stopped for a brief period, it eventually returned. The dealer then tried tightening the bolt on the hub and polishing the rotor, but these attempts were unsuccessful. Currently, they are in the process of replacing the driver's side hub. Despite these setbacks, I have taken action by filing a LEMON LAW Claim against Hyundai. The dealer has had my vehicle for 45 days, but I remain confident that the issue will be resolved soon.

I purchased this van in December 2006 with only 11,000 miles on it. It was previously used as a Factory Reps vehicle. I chose Hyundai due to my positive experiences with the Elantra and Sonata. While this van competes well with Toyota and Honda in terms of design and function, it falls short in terms of owner satisfaction. In my opinion, the biggest issue with this van is the dealership's service. Unfortunately, Hyundai dealerships remind me of the domestic dealerships from the past, where they focus more on selling than on service. It's frustrating to continuously bring a vehicle in for the same issue and be told that they don't know what's wrong with it. However, I must say that they have fixed everything except for the whine in the right rear speaker.

We have a 2007 Entourage and unfortunately, we have been experiencing some issues with the A/C. It tends to make a clunking noise when the engine is first started, which is not something you would expect from a new van that costs $28,000. After having the A/C replaced twice, Hyundai informed us that this is a normal occurrence in all Entourages. While we were disappointed with this response, we understand that sometimes these things happen. On the other hand, we also own a 2006 KIA Sorento (Hyundai's sister company) which has 17,000 more miles on it than the Entourage, and we have found that it rides, drives and sounds better than the Hyundai. It's worth noting that the Entourage can sound a bit like a tank when it's cold, but overall we are still satisfied with our purchase.

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Entourage minivan. While I was initially drawn to the Hyundai brand, unfortunately my experience with this vehicle has not been great. I've had to deal with a number of issues, including a broken DVD player, a broken armrest, and multiple problems with the brakes and ignition. Additionally, I've had ongoing battery and wiring issues that have been difficult to diagnose and fix. The powered side doors are a nice feature, but they can be unreliable in cold weather. I paid 10,000 to 15,000 dollars for my vehicle, which provided me with good value for my money compared to the Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. However, I regret purchasing this particular vehicle as it has not met my expectations. The after-sales service has been disappointing, despite their advertised warranty. The auto sliding doors are frequently jammed, the instrumentation panel is unreliable, and the cruise control does not work properly. Additionally, the steering wheel has a sharp edge. These issues have led me to believe that this vehicle is not worth the 31,000 dollars we spent on it.
