The Genesis G70 (Korean: 제네시스 G70) is a four-door compact executive car manufactured by the Korean luxury automaker Genesis, a luxury division of Hyundai Motor Group.
The G70 debuted on September 15, 2017, at a global launch event in Seoul's Olympic Park. It is Genesis Motor's third model and was designed to compete with compact executive and entry-level luxury saloons and sedans. The Genesis G70 was named the 2019 North American Car of the Year.
Overview
The Genesis G70 was under development for several years and was previewed by the Genesis New York Concept and shown at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. The design was drafted by German auto designer Peter Schreyer, who is also responsible for designing the related Kia Stinger. Development of the G70 took place at Hyundai Namyang R&D Center in Hwaseong, South Korea.
The exterior design shares cues from the other two Genesis models, the G80 and the G90. The grille features Genesis' corporate design, with functional air intakes along the bottom and side. The LED headlights operate with separate daytime running lights. The rear has an athletic stance, framed by LED taillights and dual exhausts.
The interior's center console is constructed out of soft-touch plastics, leather & genuine metal accents that are slightly angled toward the driver. The layout has three large knobs for the climate controls, an eight-inch touch screen, and a small electronic shifter. The interior appointments on the G70 include quilted leather seating surfaces, along with brushed aluminum and stainless steel trim.

- Summary: After speaking to the Genesis dealerships closest to my residence, it was made aware to me that the recall part in question, the High-Pressure Fuel Pump, will not be able to be repaired in a timely manner due to the parts not being in stock and that the dealerships I contacted would not be able to provide service for these repairs until November 2024 (If the part is in stock at the time). The dealerships were not able to confirm when the parts would be back in stock but, regardless, they would not be able to perform services for this recall until November 2024. I am aware of the safety issues that this part has if not remedied in a timely manner so, I would like to ensure a quick resolution (Buy Back) can be completed. My vehicle has started stalling at moments of operating the vehicle and has had poor engine performance creating moments of sluggish acceleration. I have also experienced some delays in my engine starting on occasion. I feel as though this jeopardizes the safety and well being of me and anyone else who rides in my vehicle as any more wear and damage to this part could result in total engine failure leaving me without an operational vehicle and, possibly, creating an accident mid drive. I have contacted the following dealerships who both expressed that the parts for this recall are on back order and could not confirm when they would be back in stock along with the fact that they would not be able to provide service on said recall until November of 2024. It is VERY disconcerting, and I haven't been able to find a common denominator for this issue, except that it seems to only happen during daylight hours, on sunny days. Should this happen while another car is following me, this could certainly cause an accident.

- Summary: Hi, I’m an Automotive technician writing on behalf of my Girlfriend. She drives a 2019 Genesis G70 2.0T. Her High pressure fuel pump failed Diagnosed by me. Throwing the Code P0088 which is a too high pressure in fuel rail system code. She was driving to work in the morning about last week and was on the highway when the car completely lost power and would not move at all on the Highway she takes to work. Fortunately she was able to get the car limped home safely and no one was hurt but after this I contacted Genesis about the open recall they have for the high pressure fuel pump and asked if they could help us out even though there was no remedy available yet according to them and we had no help. Case manager just told us basically we have to pay out of pocket and that Genesis will not reimburse us for this inconvenience. The bulletin they released regarding the Recall states if the car has a check engine light for the high pressure fuel pump that it would be replaced at no cost to the owner regardless of Warranty situations. But they refuse to help. That’s why I am writing this because my Girlfriend needs a working vehicle to get to work and safely. Genesis needs to own up because I should not have to pay over 1000$ out of pocket because of a manufacturer mistake.

- Summary: From six to ten times over the past year, while at highway speeds, the adaptive cruise control has suddenly sounded warning chimes and momentarily engaged emergency braking, when there is no other vehicle or object ahead of me. I have had the system suddenly brake from over 70mph down to between 50 and 55mph, then begin to accelerate again. This has always happened in good daylight and clear weather. Fortunately, it has not happened when I had a vehicle close following me. Recently this happened three times on a three hour highway trip, and once again the following morning, also on a highway. On 11/07/23 I took it to the Genesis dealer, but the technician was unable to reproduce the problem.

I see that you have owned a Hyundai for years and have recently decided to purchase a new 2020 G70 3.3T prestige after considering the Audi A4 and multiple BMWs. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your new car and have had no issues with it at 4900 miles. It's great to know that it gets plenty of compliments and comes with many standard features that people find impressive for its price tag. It's always exciting to drive your G70, even in traffic!

The 2.0 4-cylinder turbo is an excellent match, even if you're not a Nascar driver. The engine's performance is truly amazing, making the extra cost for the 3.0 engine unnecessary. I was impressed by the available technology, comfortable ride, quiet interior, and quality craftsmanship. The ride comfort and steering feel are the best. This car serves two purposes for me: a comfortable luxury ride and a sportscar drive when I'm feeling a bit rambunctious. It's even beaten some Mercedes at the light! The warranty and valet service are top-notch. The fit and finish are just outstanding! Here's a secret I'll share with you: try to find a new g70 with less than 8k miles. I found mine, the Prestigue with an MSRP sticker of 45k, listed at the Genesis dealer for only 36k and 5k miles! I saved NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS OFF THE LIST! The car is new with a full warranty, and there was no dealer mark-up or dealer protection package. I just paid the 1k dealer fee. I did everything online and never set foot in the dealership! They brought the car to me for a test drive, took it back, I signed the paperwork online, and they delivered it to me the next day!

This is the first brand new car I have ever bought and I must say, it was money well spent! I opted for the red exterior with brown leather interior G70 Elite and it is absolutely gorgeous. Although it may not be quick off the line, once the turbo spools up, it gets up and goes! Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this awesome car.

An excellent combination of performance and luxury. Feels very similar to the BMW 3 series with a nicer interior. Although I have had a few issues that were covered under warranty, the Genesis valet service has been a big plus. As far as I know, they are the only brand that will bring your loaner car to your workplace or residence while your car is being serviced and return your car to you when work is completed. Overall, I highly recommend this car!

Despite my efforts to resolve these problems, they persisted and ultimately led me to terminate my lease contract after 36 months and pay the $4,000 penalty. While my experience may have been unfortunate, I have decided not to purchase a Genesis vehicle again.

I leased this car based on the fabulous reviews. However, my experience has been less than ideal. I have had to make multiple trips to the dealership and have faced issues with parts being unavailable for up to 8 months. Additionally, I felt misled by the dealership from the point of purchase to aftersales service. Unfortunately, I have had ongoing issues with the car almost every month, including trim discoloration, sunroof replacement, seat belts not retracting, the car going from drive into neutral, and difficulty shifting from park to reverse. The Voice Command module in the car takes a while to connect, and the GPS often gives directions after a turn has been missed. The gas mileage is not great, and the car lacks pick-up. While there is no back seat to speak of, the back seats do fully fold down, allowing passengers to lay down in the back. Lastly, the hood doesn't latch evenly on both sides. I hope these issues can be resolved soon.

As a former BMW and Audi owner, I was initially disappointed with my new car and even considered selling it back to the dealership. However, after driving it for a month, I have found a few redeeming qualities. The car has a peppy engine, although it does come at a cost to fuel economy. The exterior design is well done, and the seats are comfortable for short drives. However, there are some downsides to the car. The fuel economy is not great, and the highway driving assist can make the car feel insecure in its handling. Additionally, the 'soft touch' surfaces on the center console and door are not actually soft and can be uncomfortable to rest against for extended periods of time. Finally, the wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be a bit of an annoyance. Overall, I would recommend this car if you are upgrading from a Hyundai or Kia or if it fits within your budget, but there are other options out there that may be more compelling for the price.The headlights reset to off every time you turn off the car, so you need to remember to reactivate them on the stalk. Unfortunately, the car does not come with a HUD unless you opt for the $55K plus 3.3T Prestige trim. At that price point, you could spend just a little more for an Audi A5 Prestige or BMW 3/4 Series with Msport package. Additionally, there is no ambient lighting available at all. The trunk is also extremely small, so you won't be able to make a Costco run in this car. Unlocking the back doors can be a bit of a pain, as you can't just walk up to the rear door with the fob in your pocket and pull on the door handle. You either have to take out the fob and unlock from there, or you have to go to the front door handle and hit it twice to unlock it. Leg room in the back seat is also quite cramped, even my 9-year-old who's 4'5
