Ford Van problems
The Ford Transit is a family of light commercial vehicles manufactured by the Ford Motor Company since 1965, primarily as a cargo van, but also available in other configurations including a large passenger van (marketed as the Ford Tourneo in some markets since 1995), cutaway van chassis, and a pickup truck. The vehicle is also known as the Ford T-Series (T-150, T-250, T-350), a nomenclature shared with Ford's other light commercial vehicles, the Ford F-Series trucks, and the Ford E-Series chassis. As of 2015, 8 million Transit vans have been sold, making it the third best-selling van of all time and has been produced across four basic platform generations (debuting in 1965, 1986, 2000, and 2013 respectively), with various "facelift" versions of each.
The first product of the merged Ford of Europe, the Transit was originally marketed in Western Europe and Australia. By the end of the twentieth century, it was marketed nearly globally with the exception of North America until 2013 when it replaced the Ford E-Series van. Upon its introduction in North America, the Transit quickly became the best-selling van of any type in the United States, minivan sales included.
That mirrors the success the Transit has achieved in Europe, where it has been the best-selling light commercial vehicle for forty years, and in some countries the term "Transit" has passed into common usage as a generic trademark applying to any light commercial van in the Transit's size bracket.

Common Ford Van problems
The Ford Transit Van, a popular choice for businesses and individuals, has faced several common problems over the years. Here are some of the most significant issues based on complaints from owners:
- Fuel Pump Failures: Fuel pump failures can cause the engine to stall, leading to significant inconvenience and safety concerns. This issue has been reported in various model years of the Ford Transit Van.
- Electrical Problems: Electrical problems, such as issues with dashboard instruments and lighting, have been reported in the Ford Transit Van. These problems can affect the van's drivability, quality, and safety.
- Suspension Wear and Tear: Suspension wear and tear, often requiring replacement parts, has been reported in some model years of the Ford Transit Van. This issue can affect the van's ride quality and handling.
- Loss of Power: Loss of power has been a significant problem for some owners of the Ford Transit Van, particularly in the 2016 model. This issue can be caused by various factors, including clogged fuel and air filters, clogged fuel injectors, and poor compression.
- Exhaust Gas Recalculation Valve Sticking: TDCI engines in the Ford Transit Van can blow out black smoke and lose power due to the Exhaust Gas Recalculation valve sticking. This issue can be corrected by removing the pipe or connector and gently tapping the valve to get it to close.
- Temperature Sensor Cuts Out: Later models of the Ford Transit Van may experience issues with the temperature sensor. If the sensors go bad, the van may not start or stop.
- Spark Plug Issues: Spark plug issues can be a serious concern for all manufacturers, including Ford. In 2013, Ford had to recall approximately 10,000 vehicles due to some rear door child locks not operating properly.
- Connectivity Issues with the Infotainment Systems: Many cars now have infotainment systems, and Ford has had its fair share of connectivity issues regarding this system. From failing software to communications with users' phones and voice recognition, it has become a major issue for some customers.
It's essential to address these common problems promptly with regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the longevity and safety of the Ford Transit Van.

Ford Van 1976
- Date Of Incident: 2000-07-22
- Date Complaint: 2000-08-30
- VIN: E14HHB43212
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: IN LESS THAT 2 MONTHS, ALL FOUR TIRES ON MY VAN FAILED. THE FIRST FAILED WHEN THE TIRE TRED CAME LOOSE FROM THE TIRE CASING CAUSING THE TIRE TO BE UNBALANCED. THE SECOND OCCURRED A FEW DAYS LATER WHEN WE WERE TRAVELLING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 60 MILES PER HOUR. THE TIRE TRED SEPARATED TOTALLY FROM THE TIRE AND THE TIRE LOST ALL AIR PRESSURE. I WAS ABLE TO STOP SAFELY. THE THIRD TIRE HAD TIRE TRED THAT APPEARED TO BE UNEVEN. WHEN I DEFLATED THE TIRE, IT APPEARED LIKE THE FIRST WITH SOFT SPOTS AROUND THE DIAMETER OF THE TIRE. THE FOURTH TIRE HAD A CIRCULAR CRACK AROUND THE SIDEWALL AND LOOKED LIKE IT WOULD HAVE EVENTUALLY BLOWN OUT. IN JULY, I TRAVELLED IN NEVADA AND IDAHO WHERE THE TEMPERATURE APPROACHED 100 DEGREES. THIS MIGHT HAVE HAD AN EFFECT ON THE FIRST 3 TIRES.( DOT NUMBER: 6F66 TIRE SIZE: 30 X 9.5 X )
