Overview
The Encore GX was revealed alongside the second generation Encore at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. It shares the VSS-F platform with the new Chevrolet Trailblazer crossover SUV. The size of the Encore GX is subcompact-plus, positioned between the subcompact Encore and the compact Envision.
After the discontinuation of the smaller Encore, the Encore GX was the entry-level offering from Buick, until the arrival of the larger but less expensive Envista.

- Summary: Shift To Park displays in instrument panel when car is in Park. From my research this has been happening on GM cars since 2018, why is there no recall on this issue? People pay to get this replaced and then it happens again because GM has a "potential" fix, they are not even sure which part is causing the issue. Please help, I cannot afford to get this fixed and of course this happened right after the bumper-to-bumper warranty expired. Tech not sure if it would be covered under the Power train warranty, but mostly likely not since GM really does not know what part is causing the issue, so I'm sure they will say its anything but the Powertrain! NHTSA should be protecting consumers, this is a very old issue, and GM is still selling vehicles with this issue! Force them to do a recall, it's only fair to the consumers.

My wife and I tested several crossovers before finally deciding on the Buick Encore GX. Based on our personal preferences, we would rank them as follows: 1) Buick Encore GX 2) Chevy Trailblazer 3) Ford Escape 4) Ford Edge 5) Toyota RAV4 (which was a bit of a surprise since it's the best-selling crossover in Canada) 6) GMC Terrain 7) Jeep Cherokee (which came in last place due to its sluggishness and lack of agility). As soon as we test drove the Encore GX and Trailblazer, we knew that one of them was the right choice for us. We would have considered the Ford Escape if it were a bit cheaper, as it has the horsepower we're used to, but it was slightly out of our budget (since we didn't like the bottom trim). The only downside of the Encore GX is that it doesn't have enough horsepower for highway driving, but the torque is more than sufficient for city driving. Overall, the Encore GX is comfortable and enjoyable to drive, it has a classy yet sporty look, and it's the perfect size for a couple living in the city.

Congratulations on your first vehicle purchase! It's great to hear that you're enjoying the amazing tech features, such as Apple CarPlay, for listening to music and navigation. The big screen with CarPlay and backup camera is also very sleek and stylish. It's wonderful to hear that you've put about 1000 miles on her and she drives like a charm. At 23 years old, you never thought you'd buy a Buick, but this car is sleek and sporty, and looks like a luxury car. Although the auto stop feature can get a little annoying, the car has great safety features and a smooth drive overall.

When Buick sent me its first email announcing the Encore GX, I wasn't too fond of it at first. It looked too similar to other SUVs and lacked the uniqueness of my 2015 Encore. However, after receiving another email about the Encore GX, I began to really like it. This week, we test-drove an Encore GX Essence and it felt incredibly solid. The steering was easy, just like a traditional Buick. While I was still figuring out how to quiet the radio, it seemed quiet, just like a traditional Buick. A quiet car has become important to me. Although I couldn't determine if the transmission shifts unnoticeably, the HUD on this Encore GX indicated that it hadn't shifted past second gear - the trans has nine speeds. For some people, using the technology onboard the Encore GX might be a learning experience. Overall, I would definitely consider purchasing an Encore GX.

I'm really enjoying our new Buick Encore GX! We've had it for about a month now and have already put 2,000 miles on it, mostly driving around the city with one road trip. I'm so satisfied with how quiet and comfortable the car is. The smooth acceleration of the 1.2L and CVT is really pleasing and doesn't feel intrusive at all. Plus, it's just the right height for my 88-year-old mother-in-law to easily get in and out of. The price was also a great value, especially with all the incentives we received. I paid $19,240 for my Preferred trim plus the Cold Weather package (Heated, power seats, remote start) after all the discounts. I highly recommend shopping around and not just comparing MSRP. The purchase process at my dealer was also top-notch. An update at 17,500 miles: everything is still going well! I'm still getting great MPG, around 30-32 per tank. We haven't had much snow yet this winter in Minnesota, but the car has been handling well so far. One small thing I love about the Encore GX is that you can lift the wiper blades up while you scrape the windshield, which you can't do with the old Encore. The heating system is also great, almost set and forget, and very quiet. I'm still very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it. At 32,000 miles, everything is still going smoothly! No complaints and no rattles. The MPG is still holding steady at 30-32 per tank. I also love the two-tiered floor in the trunk, which is great for carrying taller items like my mother-in-law's walker. At 45,000 miles, I'm still very happy with my purchase. No problems to report and the MPG is still holding steady. The car has been handling the recent snowstorm in Minneapolis as well as can be expected for a FWD car. I'm glad it has a higher ground clearance than a regular sedan, and the heated seats and remote start have been a lifesaver!

I have leased a Buick Encore Preferred or Touring for the last 4 times in a row because I absolutely love it. The size, height, and storage options are perfect for me, and I feel safe and secure while driving it. Recently, I decided to try the new Buick Encore GX, but unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The storage options that I loved in the previous model were missing, and the car felt lower to the ground, which was uncomfortable for me. Additionally, the quality and handling of the GX did not compare to the Buick Encore. The steering felt loose, and the car drove 'wobbly,' making me feel every bump on the road. I also noticed a significant difference in the glare on the windshield compared to the previous model. Overall, I was disappointed with the Buick Encore GX and decided to stick with the Buick Encore that I know and love.I think the glare might be caused by that. The regular Encore doesn't have the same issue. Another problem I noticed while driving is the loud engine shutdown at stop lights. My previous Encore did this too, but it was much quieter. The seats are just okay and not as nice as the seats in my previous Encores. In my opinion, if Buick is going to replace the popular Buick Encore with the Encore GX, they should improve it or at least make it of similar quality as the previous model. After all, people buy/lease Buick for the luxury and safety, right? I hope my review is taken into consideration when making improvements to the GX. If the model is not improved by the time my current lease is up, I may have to consider other options. Thank you for your attention.

I recently picked up my car and unfortunately, the engine light came on while I was on my way home. It was in service for two weeks before they could figure out the problem. I have had three previous Encores that were great, but this one is not living up to my expectations. Sometimes, when I turn it off, it sounds like it's about to fall apart. Additionally, when I'm on the expressway, it wobbles everywhere, making it feel like I'm always in a wind storm. Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper. Unfortunately, Buick declined my request for a repurchase, so I will be visiting the service department again.

Hello! We've had our vehicle for 12 weeks now, but unfortunately, we haven't been able to use it for 3 weeks, and it's currently at the dealership for the 4th time due to the same issue. The dealership has discovered a pinhole leak in the exhaust system, which has caused another part to fail 3 times. However, Buick is currently experiencing a shortage of parts to fix the issue, and the dealership is having trouble getting a response from them. We were hoping that Buick would have been stockpiling parts to fix this issue, especially since we're already 8 months into 2021. Unfortunately, we've been unable to use the vehicle for 25% of the time since we purchased it, and it's now going on 33%. Thank you for your understanding.
