The second generation of the BMW 6 Series consists of the BMW E63 (coupe version) and BMW E64 (convertible version) grand tourers. The E63/E64 generation was produced by BMW from 2003 to 2010 and is often collectively referred to as the E63.

The E63 uses a shortened version of the E60 5 Series chassis and subsequently shares many features. The car initially drew criticism, due to its controversial styling and complicated iDrive system.

The M6 model was introduced in 2005 in coupé and convertible body styles. It is powered by the S85 V10 engine shared with the E60 M5, and most M6s were produced with a 7-speed automated manual transmission ("SMG III").

In March 2011, the BMW 6 Series (F06/F12/F13) began production as the successor to the E63.

Common Bmw 645ci problems

The BMW 645Ci is a luxury grand tourer that has been praised for its performance and refinement. However, like any car, it has its share of common problems that potential buyers should be aware of. Here are some of the most common issues reported by owners of the BMW 645Ci:

  • Aluminium Corrosion: Another common problem reported by BMW 645Ci owners is corrosion on the aluminium doors. This is a particularly common issue on cars that are driven in coastal areas or in areas with high humidity. The corrosion can be caused by a variety of factors, including saltwater spray, road salt, and exposure to moisture. In some cases, the corrosion can be so severe that it can cause the doors to become difficult to open and close. In extreme cases, the corrosion can even cause the doors to fall off.
  • Electrical Issues: The BMW 645Ci is known for its complex electrical systems, which can sometimes cause problems. Some of the most common electrical issues reported by owners include problems with the windows, sunroof, and climate control system. In some cases, the electrical issues can be caused by faulty wiring or sensors. In other cases, the issues can be caused by software glitches or problems with the car's onboard computer.
  • Expensive Suspension Parts: The BMW 645Ci is known for its sophisticated suspension system, which is designed to provide a smooth and comfortable ride. However, the suspension system can be expensive to repair or replace. Some of the most common suspension problems reported by owners include worn out bushings, leaking shocks, and broken springs. In some cases, the suspension problems can be caused by normal wear and tear. In other cases, the problems can be caused by rough driving or driving on rough roads.
  • Gearbox Issues: The BMW 645Ci is available with a variety of different gearboxes, including a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed SMG III robotised manual. While the gearboxes are generally reliable, they can sometimes cause problems. Some of the most common gearbox issues reported by owners include slipping, jerking, and difficulty shifting. In some cases, the gearbox issues can be caused by worn out clutches or faulty sensors. In other cases, the issues can be caused by software glitches or problems with the car's onboard computer.

In conclusion, while the BMW 645Ci is a luxury grand tourer that is known for its performance and refinement, it is not without its share of common problems. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues and should be prepared to spend money on repairs and maintenance. However, with proper care and maintenance, the BMW 645Ci can provide years of enjoyable driving.

Is the BMW 645Ci a reliable car?

Its good with styling but reliability is not good

I owned a 05 645ci when it caught a oil leak and convertible electric problems then a few month's later the engine went up but i mean styling is good. I recommend taking it for service 24/7 if u are interested in purchasing the BMW!

Is a 645Ci fast?

BMW expects the 645 six-speed to reach 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. We have no reason to doubt that. Opt for the automatic, and the shifts—both up and down—are quick and slick.

What is the problem with the BMW 6 Series 2004?

Summary: BMW IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004-2010 5-SERIES, 6-SERIES, AND MODEL YEAR 2002-2008 7-SERIES VEHICLES. A CHECK VALVE OF THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP MAY LEAK A SMALL AMOUNT OF LUBRICATING OIL. OVER TIME THIS COULD RESULT IN CONTAMINATION OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER.

What engine does the 645Ci have?

V-8

A 4.4-liter, 32-valve, four-cam V-8 with variable valve timing puts out 325 horsepower in the finest sports car fashion. Matched with a six-speed gearbox, the 645Ci Convertible can muscle up against just about anything on the road.
