Audi Q4 problems
The Audi Q4 e-tron is a battery electric compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Audi. It is based on Volkswagen Group's electric MEB platform and is the fourth fully-electric model in the Audi e-tron series after the Audi Q8 e-tron (formerly Audi e-tron), e-tron GT and Q2L e-tron. Production began in March 2021, with the production version being unveiled in April 2021.
Overview
The Q4 e-tron was first shown as a near-series concept vehicle at Geneva Motor Show in 2019. Positioned in what Audi calls the "heart of the market", the compact SUV segment, its length of 4.58 m (180 in) is slightly shorter than that of the Audi Q5, although Audi claims that the Q4 e-tron offers comparable interior space. With 86 cm (34 in), the front overhangs are relatively short, allowing for a wheelbase of 2.76 m (109 in) while maintaining more compact overall dimensions.
Much of the exterior design such as the spoilers in front of the front wheel arches, the rear spoiler or the bars below the headlights was introduced with vehicle aerodynamics in mind. The Q4 e-tron achieves a drag coefficient of 0.26 in the Sportback version, which is worsened to 0.28 for the regular roofline model. Wheel sizes between 19 and 21 inch are offered.
Optional features include an augmented reality head-up display and an 11.6 in (29 cm) infotainment screen, which can be controlled via voice commands.
The boot (trunk) holds 520 L of space, which is extended to 1,490 L when folding down the second row seats (40:20:40 split) whereas the Sportback versions obtain 535/1,460 L.

Common Audi Q4 problems
The Audi Q4 e-tron, an all-electric compact SUV, has been praised for its design, performance, and eco-friendly features. However, like any other vehicle, it is not immune to issues and problems. Here are some common problems reported by Audi Q4 e-tron owners:
- Charging problems: Some owners have experienced difficulties charging their Q4 e-tron, with the car stopping communication with the charging port at some point. This can be a significant issue, as it prevents the vehicle from recharging, which is crucial for electric cars.
- Software update issues: There have been instances where software updates have caused problems for the Q4 e-tron. In some cases, the car wouldn't start after the software was installed, requiring support from Audi technical to resolve the issue. This can be a significant inconvenience for owners, as it may require leaving the car at the dealership for an extended period.
- Hardware compatibility issues: Some owners have reported that software updates have caused compatibility issues with existing hardware, such as the car's firewall. This can lead to the car not starting or functioning correctly, requiring technical support to resolve.
- Active safety systems failure: There have been reports of active safety systems being disabled due to software issues, putting drivers at risk. This is a significant concern, as these systems are designed to enhance safety and prevent accidents.
It is important to note that not all Audi Q4 e-tron owners will experience these problems, and the vehicle has received positive reviews overall. However, these issues highlight the importance of regular maintenance and software updates to ensure the vehicle's optimal performance and safety.
