- Summary: I have experienced peeling of the chrome plating (over plastic) on the INSIDE door release handle on the DRIVER'S side door. When I first noticed this, I cut my fingers on the peeling chrome plating. I had to continually cut back the sharp edge, or carefully reach over it, to prevent further cuts to my fingers. The door handle is not available as a service part from GM for the Saturn Sky (and similar Pontiac Solstice). According to parts catalogs, it was only available as part of the inner door assembly, which is long obsolete for the driver's door side. I was forced to adapt a part from the Chevrolet Cobalt (and used an aftermarket part from Dorman) to replace the handle when I got tired of dealing with cuts. There are a number of YouTube videos showing how to replace the handle, which indicates this is not a one-off problem.

- Summary: When pressing on the brakes in reverse, they fail to stop the resistance is very hard, like stepping on a brick, and it does nothing to slow the vehicle. I had to throw the emergency brake on and put the car in gear in order to stop it from rolling backwards.

- Summary: I received a recall notice for my Saturn Sky's airbag system in the mail. There was no service light on in my car, and I did not have any known problems, however, to be safe I took my car in. Now the service airbag light is on in my car and I am told that the part that was supposed to be fixed needs to be replaced. If it had been properly repaired or the part replaced when I took it in for the recall, I should not need to pay over $800 to replace it now. I read that the recall only required a piece of tape to be applied. A band aid? What kind of a recall does this?

Called about the recall as the problem has shown up again as the repair is using the same parts that failed before causing the reason for the recall to begin with. Vehicle has a total of 43,000 miles as of this writing. Why was the recall using the same part instead of a correct repair? The condition allows for a failure of this system at anytime, but required to function by law. In addition the repair or reoccurring and ongoing repair due to poor design and defective design and construction with a system that does not work and will not pass inspection. I own a Honda, Jaguar, and a Saturn, but when it comes to driving for enjoyment, I always choose my Saturn Sky Redline. It's an absolute blast to drive and truly puts the 'fun' in driving. I've owned many cars in my life, including a 442, 340 Dodge Swinger, Turbo Buick, and more, so I can say with confidence that the Sky Redline is truly something special. If you're considering buying one, I can assure you that you won't regret it. Despite its affordable price, it boasts features that can easily compare to those of cars that cost 40-50 thousand dollars. I purchased my Redline Sky new and the dealer even added a Fugita F5 Competition Cold Air Intake System, which is warranted for one year. I also added a Borla Exhaust, which only adds to the already incredible driving experience. I've looked at specs for other cars, but I always come back to the Red.

This car is everything you could wish for in a roadster. It's extremely fun to drive, with amazing handling and an excellent sound system. If you were considering the Pontiac Solstice, I highly recommend checking out the Sky. After laying eyes on the Redline, we knew it was the car we had been looking for. It's a must-drive, especially with XM radio and OnStar phone service. Excellent!

If you are giving bad reviews to this car, I respectfully disagree. In my experience, the Saturn Sky Redline has been the most trouble-free car I have ever driven. It is more fun to drive than my Corvette and has had fewer issues than my XLR. The handling is better and the performance is way better than my various Celicas. I have also driven numerous rental cars that are not nearly as enjoyable to drive. Additionally, for about $3500.00, you can turn the LNF engine into a 440HP monster. In my opinion, nothing comes close to the performance, handling, and looks of this car for the price.

Congratulations on your Ruby Red Redline purchase! It sounds like you've been enjoying it since your 40th birthday 3 months ago, putting about 1600 miles on it so far. Although you'll be putting it away in the winter months, it's great to hear that you're getting around 30 mpg, which is similar to your 2007 Honda Accord v4. It's impressive that you can put the top up and down while sitting in the driver's seat, and it's well worth the effort to close the trunk and lock the buttresses. I'm glad to hear that you had plenty of trunk space with the top down on your weekend trip with your wife, and it's no surprise that your car gets lots of attention. Although I was initially excited to receive my new Sky, my experience has been disappointing due to the poor quality and craftsmanship of the vehicle. Despite having visited the dealership 8 times already, I have encountered numerous issues such as a leaking roof, poor quality paint job, driveline noise, rear axle leakage, and malfunctioning AC compressor. These issues have arisen within just 4 months and 7000 miles of driving. While I still have affection for the car, it is disheartening to have encountered so many problems with a brand new vehicle.

Well, hello there! I must admit, I've done it again. After years of owning Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans, I thought I'd go back to my roots and buy another GM product. I used to only buy GM products for 20 years and now I remember why I stopped buying them. However, I must say that my 2007 still looks like a million bucks in the garage!
