The Infiniti Q70 and Q70L is a line of mid-size luxury (executive) cars from Nissan luxury division Infiniti. Essentially an update to the Infiniti M series with minor cosmetic changes, the Q70 name was introduced to reflect Infiniti's updated "Q" nomenclature.
First generation
The Chinese model went on sale in 2012.
In 2013, the entire Infiniti line was renamed, with the M sedans becoming the Q70; this reflected the model's relative position in the Infiniti lineup, rather than the engine displacement as had previously been used.
US models went on sale in 2014 model year vehicles. Early models included 3.7, 3.7 AWD, 5.6, 5.6 AWD, Hybrid.

Is Infiniti Q70 reliable?
My Q70L has been reliable so far with 38,000 miles. The drawback is the tech. It would have been great if I Infiniti upgraded to LED screens on the dashboard and on the entertainment system. I really think the car would have sold.

In 2019, Nissan confirmed that the Infiniti Q70, Q70L, Q30, and QX30 models will be discontinued after the 2019 model year due to poor sales as people in Canada, Mexico, and the United States prefer to purchase crossovers and SUVs instead of sedans, hatchbacks, estates, convertibles, and coupes.

- Summary: Driver side airbag deployed as I was turning the corner leaving me with no visual of pedestrians. The deployment resulted in lacerations on my forearm and a knot on my head with a busted lip. My vehicle is technically not drivable because my seatbelts are locked. I am also afraid of driving my vehicle due to the other airbags deploying on my family out of no where. There were no prior lights or warnings to this incident.

- Summary: During highway driving on May of 2022, the vehicle displayed an Intelligent Key Not Detected error while driving on cruise control. The accelerator was no longer responsive as the vehicle decelerated. The warning lights, infotainment center and A/C were still operational. Vehicle was maneuvered off the highway , but would not start up after power down. Vehicle battery was replaced, and the same error occurred 2 weeks later while the car was idled. Error reported to dealership with remedy of ECM reprogramming following guidelines of BULLETIN ITB13-054D.

THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF THE INFINITI'S WITH YEARS RANGING FROM 2014-2019 WITH 3.7 LITER ENGINE. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE RESOLVED BECAUSE THE CAR CAN SUDDENLY STOP MOVE AT HIGH SPEEDS AND CAUSE AND ACCIDENT. PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS RECALL AAMCO TRANSMISSION HAVE HAD HUNDREDS OF INFINITI'S WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY CAN NOT REPAIR SO THEY WILL SEND YOU TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS IN WHICH IT WILL COST THE CONSUMER 3,000 PLUS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THEY WILL RECOMMEND THAT YOU SHOULD GET THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED INSTEAD OF REPAIRING IT AND MOST OF THE VEHICLES ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH LOW MILEAGE. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Infiniti M35 hybrid vehicles manufactured April 7, 2012, to September 9, 2013, 2014 Infiniti Q50 hybrid vehicles manufactured December 10, 2012, to July 15, 2014, and 2014-2015 Infiniti Q70 hybrid vehicles manufactured April 9, 2010, to May 7, 2014. Due to a software error, In the affected vehicles, if the signal is lost from one of the two throttle position sensors (TPS), the engine control module (ECM) will go into a fail-safe mode, partially closing the throttle chamber. Should the lost signal be restored, the throttle chamber may open, regardless of the position signal from the TPS.
- Consequence: The vehicle may gradually accelerate due to the throttle chamber reopening. This unexpected acceleration may increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the ECM, free of charge. The recall began on November 10, 2014. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

The affected vehicles may have been assembled with transmissions whose housings were damaged during their manufacturing.
- Consequence: The damaged housings could crack and fracture, creating road debris and disabling the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
