I recently leased a 2022 Santa Fe Plug-In and have been enjoying it, with the exception of the push button transmission being a bit clunky. However, I have had some trouble with the dealership network. I was hoping for the same level of service I received from Honda and Toyota, but unfortunately, it has been difficult to schedule appointments and receive call backs. This has been frustrating, especially since I have had to deal with multiple dealers just to get an oil change and address an electronic recall on the instrument cluster. If you are considering leasing, keep in mind that 'free oil changes' are only helpful if they can be scheduled easily. In my experience, it has taken several months to get these basic services done in Northern California.

I'm thrilled with my car's performance so far! With 8500 miles on the clock, I'm averaging an impressive 72 mpg overall. I've taken it on several trips, including four 300-mile journeys and numerous 100-mile jaunts, and it's never let me down. On electric power alone, I'm getting an average of 33-34 miles per charge, with a range of 31 to 37 miles. Meanwhile, on hybrid mode, I'm averaging around 33-34 mpg. The interior is a real highlight for me, with beautiful beige leather and plenty of space for passengers and cargo alike. I also appreciate the buttons on the dash, which make it easy to access all the car's features. It's incredibly quiet and comfortable to drive, and boasts all the latest features, including some fantastic safety features that have given me real peace of mind. Just last week, I felt confident driving in AWD (SNOW mode) on icy roads, while other vehicles around me were struggling. And the best part? I've found loads of free charging stations wherever I go, including in British Colombia a couple of months ago, which has saved me around $825 since last February when I replaced my old Subaru Outback. But most importantly, I'm doing my bit for the environment - I've reduced my carbon footprint by about 1000 pounds and used 200 gallons less fuel compared to my previous car.

For the Limited Model, you'll enjoy a great ride and excellent interior features. The EV mode is brilliant, and for the first 30 miles, it feels just like a Tesla. If you drive less than 30 miles, you'll never come out of EV mode. After 30 miles, you'll have a peppy turbocharged engine running on gas. The ride is superior to the Model Y from Tesla and much smoother.

Before my purchase, I wasn't aware that it would take 11 hours to fully charge a 31-mile range. Even after upgrading to 240v, it still takes 3.5 hours. At this rate, it's difficult to charge at public stations or it costs more to charge because the car won't charge above 16Amp. Since we often travel over 60 miles per day, I regret buying it.

I really appreciate the great gas mileage this car provides, especially when driving around town. It went 2,000 miles on just 20 gallons of gas while running errands and charging at home overnight. During a long 2,000 mile trip, it gave 35 MPG in hybrid mode, which is still impressive. However, I did notice that the engine must run to heat the cabin during cold weather, which can be a bit of a downside. The AC works on battery, so you get better mileage in the summer than in the winter. To get better mileage, it's recommended to turn off the climate and only turn on the heated seat and steering wheel. The interior of the car is lovely, but I did have some issues with the tech and electronics. Unfortunately, very little of Bluelink actually works as it's supposed to. If it's associated with Bluelink, be doubtful. Hyundai tech will not take responsibility and will push you to the Bluelink team, who will just ask you to wait until the next software update. I can only speak to my car, which was a Santa Fe PHEV Limited, and it would not keep a charge schedule. Hyundai acknowledges that there is an issue with the software, but they do not have a fix for it. Additionally, the Santa Fe is limited to 16 amp charging, so even at 220v, it takes almost 4 hours for 100% charge/31 miles. I did experience some issues with the headlights, taillights, EV drive, brake system, and sensor failures, but these were all resolved within 6 months and less than 4,500 miles.After jumping through a lot of hoops and Hyundai declining multiple times, they have finally decided to buy my car back. However, now I'm stuck having to buy a new car again and my old-reliable truck that I traded in is gone. In hindsight, I wish I had just kept my old truck and not had this ordeal.

This PHEV has had multiple major electrical system failures since I purchased it in April, which has been frustrating and concerning for my family's safety. Despite spending a significant amount of time in the shop and waiting for backordered parts, the issues have persisted. During a family weekend trip, the car unexpectedly switched to neutral and was unable to shift gears or start/stop, causing us to be stranded and worried for our safety. I am currently working with Hyundai's case manager to address these issues and seek reimbursement for associated costs. It is clear that this car has significant design flaws and safety concerns, and I strongly advise against purchasing it.
