1993 Dodge Ad150 problems
The Dodge Ramcharger is a large sport utility vehicle built by Dodge from 1974 to 1993, based on a shortened-wheelbase version of the Dodge D series/Ram pickup chassis. A Plymouth version, named the Plymouth Trail Duster, offered from 1974 to 1981, was Plymouth's only SUV.
The Ramcharger was mostly produced as a two-door, 4×4 vehicle, although a two-wheel-drive version was available. As a full-size SUV, it competed with the Chevrolet K5 Blazer and the 1978–1996 Ford Bronco.
The Ramcharger was discontinued at the end of the 1993 model year in North America. In Mexico, however, production continued until 1996. It was then brought back from 1999 to 2001, still as a two-door SUV and sharing the design of the contemporary Ram pickup. Approximately 30,000 were produced, with all examples being two-wheel-drive only.
In November 2023, Stellantis announced that the Ramcharger nameplate would be revived for a plug-in hybrid version of the 2025 Ram 1500.

Common 1993 Dodge Ad150 problems
The Dodge AD150 1993 has several common problems that have been reported by owners of this vehicle. These issues include clutch system problems, brake system issues, and rusting.
One of the most common problems with the Dodge AD150 1993 is related to the clutch system. The clutch system in this vehicle is prone to problems due to the use of mix-and-match parts from various sources, which can create quality and installation problems. The clutch kit for the 4-cylinder, 2.2L engine in the Dodge AD150 1993 is particularly problematic. The clutch kit for this engine is prone to failure, which can result in the clutch slipping or not engaging properly. This can be a serious safety issue and can lead to the vehicle being undriveable.
Another common problem with the Dodge AD150 1993 is related to the brake system. One of the most common issues with the brake system is related to the prop valve, which is located inside the framerail at the height of the starter. This valve is responsible for controlling the timing of discs and drums, as well as distributing brake pressure between the front and rear brakes. The prop valve can cause a range of problems, including a soft brake pedal, low pressure point, moving pressure point, and rears applying too early. These issues can be caused by a range of factors, including automatic adjusters in the rears, fluid leaks, and problems with the combination valve. The combination valve is responsible for controlling the timing of discs and drums, as well as acting as a differential switch. If there is a major leak in one of the brake lines, the differential switch will trap the prop valve to warn the driver of the loss of brake fluid/brake pressure. However, the combination valve can also trap air inside itself, which can lead to problems with the brake system.
Finally, the Dodge AD150 1993 is prone to rusting, particularly in the floors. This can be a serious problem, as rust can weaken the structure of the vehicle and lead to safety issues. Rust can also lead to a range of other problems, including leaks, corrosion, and damage to the electrical system. If left untreated, rust can eventually lead to the failure of critical components, which can result in the vehicle being undriveable.
In conclusion, the Dodge AD150 1993 is a reliable vehicle, but it is prone to several common problems. These issues include clutch system problems, brake system issues, and rusting. It is important for owners of this vehicle to be aware of these issues and to take steps to address them as soon as possible to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicle.
