Bmw 750i problems
The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the German automaker BMW since 1977. It is the successor to the BMW E3 "New Six" sedan and is now in its seventh generation.
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship car and is only available in a sedan bodystyle (including long wheelbase and limousine models). It traditionally introduces technologies and exterior design themes before other models in BMW's lineup.
The first generation of the 7 Series was powered by straight-6 petrol engines, and following generations have been powered by inline-4, straight-6, V8 and V12 engines with both natural aspiration and turbocharging. Since 1995, diesel engines have been optional in the 7 Series.
Unlike the 3 Series and 5 Series sedans, BMW does not offer a full M model, but once offered an M performance variant, the BMW M760 with its 6.6L V12 (at the time the most powerful BMW ever made, not to be confused with BMW 760 6.6 V12 which does not offer the same performance). The Alpina B7 (G12) served as the high-performance variant of the 7 Series.

Common Bmw 750i problems
The BMW 750i is a luxury vehicle known for its smooth ride, advanced technology, and powerful engine. However, like any car, it can have issues that may concern potential buyers. Here are some common problems with the BMW 750i based on complaints from owners:
- Maintenance costs: The BMW 750i is an expensive car, and its maintenance costs can be high. This includes the cost of oil changes, service provided by dealerships, and parts replacement. The car's heavy weight can also lead to more frequent checks and replacement of tires, control arms, and shocks, which can be expensive.
- Engine oil leakage: Some BMW 750i owners have reported engine oil leakage due to a cracked oil filter gasket. This issue can lead to oil spillages, prevent proper lubrication of the engine, and cause piston and metal component breakdown. It's essential to check for this problem when buying a used BMW 750i.
- Cooling system faults: Higher power in the BMW 750i generates more heat, requiring a functional cooling system to keep the engine working. However, cooling system faults and radiator leaks can occur, leading to engine overheating and stalling. This is an expensive repair that should be addressed promptly.
- Digital instrument cluster failures: The sixth-generation BMW 750i features a digital instrument cluster, which can sometimes fail. Drivers have reported seeing a blank digital cluster without warning lights, rev limits, or a speedometer, making it nearly impossible to adhere to traffic rules and speed limits.
- Faulty oil filter gaskets: In the early production years of the fifth-generation BMW 750i, faulty oil filter gaskets were common. These issues were mostly solved by the end of production in 2015, but early model years like 2009 and 2010 were plagued by this problem.
- iDrive system issues: Some BMW 750i owners have reported problems with the iDrive system, which sometimes required owners to pay around $1000 to fix. This issue was more prevalent in the early model years of the fifth-generation 7 Series.
- Petrol engine cooling issues: The 750i's 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine can have cooling issues, with injectors becoming contaminated and carbon buildup in the engine. The timing chain is also a weaker part that can cause problems.
- Diesel engine common issues: Diesel engines in the BMW 750i can suffer from common issues like injector problems, fuel pump failures, high-pressure fuel pump issues, EGR valve problems, and DPF filter issues.
In summary, potential BMW 750i buyers should be aware of these common problems and consider them when making a purchasing decision. Regular maintenance, checks, and timely repairs can help ensure a smooth and enjoyable ownership experience.

- Summary: Last month, my 2016 BMW 750i XDrive displayed a warning message on the dashboard: “Extended action required. Active Protection restricted. You can continue driving. Roadside Assistance not required. Pre-tensioning of seatbelts not possible. If the problem recurs, have it checked by your service center.” When I took the vehicle to my local dealership, BMW of Gwinnett Place, the service advisor mentioned he had never seen this warning before. After diagnosing the vehicle, he informed me that the warning was related to the passenger seatbelt. He quoted me $1934.93 for parts and labor to replace the seatbelt. When I inquired about any recalls for this issue, he said there were none and that I would have to pay out of pocket. I expressed my concern that this is a major safety issue and that my family’s lives are in danger if they are sitting in the passenger seat. He reiterated that there was nothing more he could do. I contacted BMW to report the issue and seek a remedy. The representative stated that since my vehicle is out of warranty, the responsibility is mine. I strongly believe BMW should issue a recall for this issue and take full responsibility to resolve and fix the seatbelt problem on this vehicle. This is a significant safety concern, and consumers’ lives are at great risk due to this seatbelt problem on my 2016 BMW 750i.

Bmw 750i 2016
- Date Of Incident: 2023-04-05
- Date Complaint: 2023-07-24
- VIN: WBA7F2C55GG
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: There are two grill shutter actuators. One for the upper and one for the lower. Different part numbers. NHTSA issued a TSB for N63R in 2019: MC-10160279-9999 (G12 (N63R)/G30 (B58M) RADIATOR GRILL UPPER AND LOWER ACTIVE AIR FLAPS: LIMITED WARRANTY EXTENSION TO 10 YEARS/120,000 MILES). My vehicle is a N62R and there are hundreds perhaps thousands of reports of the IDENTICAL part numbers from BROSE Manufacturing (USA / Germany) failing. For example, my upper failed in APR 2023 after a repair I paid for in SEP 2022 with a P/N manufactured in 2021. Then, the lower actuator failed which has a manufacture date of 2017 (so it is the OEM part). Though the upper actuator is coded to remain open on fault, the lower is for some reason coded to remain closed on fault. If the fault codes are incorrectly interpreted by the [XXX] when the vehicle is in operation, then the engine could quickly overheat and lead to major issues for the occupants, but likely result in thousands of dollars of engine repairs. I urge you to reconsider the TSB and issue a recall/warranty extension for all BMW G11/12/30 and similar (in fact, this part is used on all series with upper and lower shutters: 5, 7 and X from 2015.) The main problem I am having is that there ARE NO PARTS IN STOCK at BMW worldwide. [XXX] has not responded. Thank you. “INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).”

- Summary: DRIVER SIDE DOORS SOMETIMES WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE WHEN USING THE DOOR HANDLE FORCING ME TO RESET THE AUTOMATIC LOCKS FROM THE CENTER DASHBOARD CONTROL. I BROUGHT IT TO MY BMW DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT DOOR CABLES CAN STRETCH EVEN WITH NORMAL USE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $580. I HAD A SIMIALR PROBLEM WITH PREVIOUS 2012 BMW 7 SERIES AND ONE ONE OCCASION I HAD TO DRIVE HOLDING THE DOOR SHUT UNTIL I REACHED THE SERVICE CENTER. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE A HOOD CABLE ON MY 2012BMW 750 AS THAT CABLE FAILED AS WELL AND I COULD NOT OPEN THE HOOD. THE PROBLEM WITH MY DOOR IS INTERMITTENT AND MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT OR FIRE I MAY BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE IF I AM UNABLE TO QUICKILY OPEN THE DOOR.. BMW WAS UNWILING TO COVER THIS AS MY WARRANTY HAD JUST EXPIRED. I WOULD THINK THAT MANY OWNERS MAY NOT KNOW OF THIS POTENTIAL PROBELM UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE AND SOMEONE IS INJURED DUE TO THE POOR QUALITY CABLES THAT BMW SEEMS TO BE USING IN ITS VEHCLES.
