Volvo Trucks (Swedish: Volvo Lastvagnar) is a truck manufacturing division of Volvo based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Volvo Trucks was a separate company within Volvo. The Volvo Group was reorganised on 1 January 2012 and as a part of the process, Volvo Trucks ceased to be a separate company and was instead incorporated into Volvo Group Trucks along Volvo's other truck operations, as Renault Trucks and Mack Trucks.

The first Volvo truck rolled off the production lines in 1928, and in 2016 Volvo Trucks employed more than 52,000 people around the world. With global headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, Volvo manufactures and assembles its trucks in eight wholly owned assembly plants and nine factories owned by local interests. Volvo Trucks produces and sells over 190,000 units annually.

Common Volvo Wcl problems

Volvo WCL cars, like any other vehicles, can experience common problems based on complaints from owners. Here are some of the issues that have been reported:

  • Oil and Power Steering Leaks: These issues are most noted at around 55,000 miles, with symptoms including a squealing noise, leaking fluid, low fluid levels, and decreased steering performance.
  • Electrical Components: Owners have reported problems with digital dashboard displays or erratic lights, and failed tailed lamps.
  • Engine and Transmission Mounts: When these mounts no longer hold the powertrain firmly in place, the engine will lift up on acceleration and may slam down when you release the throttle, causing a bump or thud sound. This can eventually lead to damage.
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System: This system is designed to monitor the air pressure in a vehicle's tires, but if it's not functioning properly, it can lead to decreased fuel efficiency and potential safety issues.
  • Engine Fire Detection and Suppression System: This system is designed to detect and extinguish engine fires, but if it's not working correctly, it can lead to potential safety hazards.
  • Vertical Installation of DPF, SCR, and Rooftop Diffuser: The vertical installation of these components is designed for improved safety, security, serviceability, and efficiency. However, if they are not installed or functioning properly, it can lead to decreased performance and potential safety issues.
  • Highest Floor-to-Ceiling Interior Height: While this feature provides superior passenger amenities for better comfort, it can also lead to decreased structural integrity if not properly supported.
  • Bi-fold Doors: These doors provide wide entry and safe opening and closing on the curb, but if they are not functioning properly, they can lead to potential safety hazards.
  • Destination Signs: These signs are designed to announce your destinations throughout the route with a rolling display, but if they are not working correctly, it can lead to confusion and potential safety issues.

These are some of the common problems reported by Volvo WCL car owners. It's important to note that not all vehicles will experience these issues, and many can be resolved with regular maintenance and repairs.
