I bought my green/tan Spyder in Texas while I was working at Texas Tech. If the Phantom (black and red) had been available, I would have definitely gone for it. Early on, a friend taught me a trick to flip the top back without getting out, and it would lock in most instances without any damage. This made me want to put the top down whenever possible. The handling is great - it goes where you point it. The acceleration is impressive, leaving other cars behind at lights without needing many RPMs. Although some people criticize its storage capacity, I drove it all the way to Maine with enough clothes packed in to work indefinitely. I really enjoyed driving at 80 mph most of the time. The OE Bridgestones were replaced at 18k under a warranty that came with the car. I'm currently pondering adding a sports muffler.
