The MPG is close to 38, making it an efficient choice for highway driving. The cargo space is also sufficient for the size of the car. Overall, the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE is a fantastic car that offers great value for its price. I highly recommend it!

During the summer of the chip shortage, when used car prices were skyrocketing to ridiculous heights and many new cars were hard to find on dealer lots locally, I stumbled upon a listing at a Toyota dealer 100 miles away for a new Corolla Hatchback SE. The car had few options, but fit exactly what I needed - good fuel efficiency, good safety features, strong reputation for reliability, and a good driving experience. I found a used 2019 model locally to drive and was convinced. I really like the small size and maneuverability of this car. It turns sharply, with little body lean as you drive around curves. The ride is smooth and comparable to my 2015 Camry SE. The engine provides usable power but it does not feel quick, only adequate. The trade off is excellent mpg with the cvt transmission. The first drive was back from the dealership located 100 miles away on two lane highways mainly. Indicated mpg for the trip was 47 mpg! Due to break-in recommendations, I did not use cruise control at all and was varying my speeds somewhat. I hope this efficiency remains. The backseat leg room may become severely restricted depending on how long the driver's legs are, but headroom and hip room are excellent. The hatch cargo area is smallish, but, again, it is a small car. We fit a standard grocery run in there just fine (4 bags upright, case of beverages, and on gallon of milk, plus had some extra room. If you need more space put down one side of the 60/40 split backseat. This car reminds me a lot of a 1995 Acura Integra that I owned. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the Corolla Hatchback SE to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient car.This former car has a 140 hp engine with low torque and a hatchback. However, this Corolla feels similar, has more power, better mpg, and can easily accommodate two people in the back. Although the Integra's steering was better, the Corolla is still a high-value car that offers a lot for your money. It comes with all the latest safety features, including traffic sign recognition and projection of the speed limit on your dashboard as you drive. It also has pedestrian and bicycle detection, among other things. Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is great. Surprisingly, it even has remote start, which can be a godsend in my northern climate. Although it is not mentioned anywhere, our salesperson showed us how to use it. You simply need to push the lock button three times, holding the button on the third press, and it will start the engine and run for up to ten minutes. Overall, I really like this car so far. It is a great everyday vehicle.

Hi there! I'm a Pharmacy Delivery Driver and I spend around 8 to 10 hours driving every day. My trusty 2019 Corolla Hatchback SE has already covered 2,000+ miles and I'm happy to report that everything is good so far. I did hear about the recalls, so I plan to take my car to the dealership before it hits 5,000 miles just to be safe. I've also heard some negative things about CVT transmissions, but I'm not experiencing any issues at the moment. Plus, I'm getting an average of 33 mpg combined, which is great! :)

I bought my 2019 Corolla Hatchback XSE (CVT) around 2 months ago and have driven about 1,100 miles so far. My combined mileage is 29MPG, which is pretty good considering my short commute (10 miles each way) with a speed limit of 45 and several stop lights. I'm sure it will perform even better on the highway. So far, I haven't had any maintenance issues. The car looks sporty, and while it may not be as powerful as my Ford Expedition with the 3.5 twin-turbo, the handling is excellent and I love taking hard corners in it. The interior space is ample for me, even though I'm 6'3

The electronic parking brake is not fully disengaging, despite the car having only 600 miles on it. This caused some embarrassment as I was unable to exit the gas station due to being stuck in park.

I initially enjoyed driving this car, but unfortunately, after 1,100 miles, I began to experience some issues. The Toyota 'safety sense' features did not work as advertised. The lane trace assist and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise were not helpful and could be considered false advertising. The brakes would sometimes engage at the wrong time, such as when taking off from a stop light or when slowing down behind other cars on the highway. The lane tracing feature was not accurate and would often only trace the lane dividers instead of the center of the lane. Additionally, it would sometimes mistakenly suggest taking an exit while driving in the right lane of a highway. I have brought the car in for service multiple times, but the issues have not been resolved. The radio is also not very useful unless you have an iPhone, as it does not support Android Auto and is only compatible with Samsung phones. The turn-by-turn navigation feature via Scout Link is not reliable and can be dangerous to use while driving. Overall, this has been a disappointing experience and I will not be purchasing another Toyota in the future.

If you're looking for a car with great performance, I would recommend the Corolla with a manual transmission. Unfortunately, the CVT doesn't do justice to the 168hp motor and can be a bit of a letdown. I tried the 'manual' mode with the paddle shifters and the 'sport' button, but neither seemed to help. When compared to the Mazda 3 and the Kia Soul, the Corolla hatch falls short. The 2020 Soul's CVT is new this year and is much better executed, while the Mazda has a larger 2.5L engine and more zip. Either of these cars would be a better choice, with the Mazda being a great option for a FWD hatch and the Soul offering better power delivery and more cargo space. After driving any of these cars back to back with the Corolla hatch, you may find that there isn't much reason to choose the Toyota.

I purchased my 6-speed 2021 hatchback in August. However, since April, I have been experiencing some issues with the software. The car is having trouble shifting into 1st gear, and the IMT revs the motor really high, causing the car to peel out. Additionally, the car keeps going into limp mode, and I am unable to drive faster than 5mph. Furthermore, the car jolts, and the Wi-Fi hotspot and Entune app are not functioning properly. Despite these issues, I still have faith in the car and am grateful that it is still under warranty.

At first glance, the hatchback may seem like the next step for the Corolla, but it has its differences. While the new and unique look is eye-catching, it comes at a cost of limited storage space and less room for passengers in the back. Unfortunately, the CVT transmission can be quite clunky, which is not what you would expect from a Toyota. Although I am disappointed with my purchase, I would still recommend the standard Corolla or any other car to potential buyers. In the past, I owned a 2015 Ford Fiesta, which had similar space limitations. When the opportunity arises, I plan to trade this car in. Thank you for considering my feedback.
