Hyundai Veloster n problems
The Hyundai Veloster (Korean: 현대 벨로스터, romanized: Hyeondae Belloseuteo) is a compact car first produced in 2011 by Hyundai, with sales beginning in South Korea on March 10, 2011, and in Canada and the United States since the fall of 2011. In South Korea, it was marketed under Hyundai's 'Premium Youth Lab'. It was unveiled on January 10, 2011, at the Detroit Auto Show, and fills the void left when Hyundai discontinued the Hyundai Tiburon after the 2008 model year.
The car differs from most other hatchbacks with its asymmetrical door configuration, featuring one large door on the driver side and two smaller doors on the passenger side. This configuration is more common on commercial vehicles and minivans. In North America, the Veloster was equipped with Blue Link, a new telematics system which will eventually be standard on all Hyundai models. The system is comparable to OnStar in General Motors vehicles, and provides customers with automatic crash notification, vehicle diagnostics, and remote control of vehicle features, among others.

The car concept was unveiled at the 2007 Seoul Motor Show, with the final production version released on January 11 at the Detroit Auto Show. The Veloster is developed under the codename FS, and is built on a modified version of the Cee'd's front-wheel drive platform.

- Summary: There have been two instances of fuel injector failures on the 2022 Veloster in within 20,000 miles. The first instance (cylinder 2) occurred at approximately 7,000 miles. The car experienced a sudden loss of power, followed by misfires and smoke from the tailpipe and the check engine light coming on during failure. The second instance (cylinder 1) occurred at approximately 19,000 miles. The car experienced a sudden loss of power, followed by misfires and smoke from the tailpipe and the check engine light coming on during failure. Both instances were repaired by the dealership under warranty. However this was a safety risk due to the immediate loss of power in the car and the inability to accelerate. Instances of fuel injector failures have been wide spread among owners of the Hyundai Veloster N and Hyundai Elantra N with 2.0T engines. There were no warning that the car would fail, prior to the actual failure. This is an important safety concern due to immediate loss of power while driving.

- Summary: July 26th 2023 at around noon CDT, when I ran into a relatively heavy downpour. I was traveling at 65mph on a hwy before the rain, then slowed down to almost 50mph due to the rain. There was a vehicle behind me when all of sudden the my cars CEL started flashing, and the car lost power. I was unable to accelerate or maintain speed, and was almost rear ended as I tried to quickly pull off the road. Took it to the dealership the following day, to have the car checked out. With the car out of limp mode they couldn't do anything about it. So I took it to the car wash to see if the problem would come back, and it did. Car was in limp mode, and returned it back to the dealership where they looked it over talked there tech line, and reported there was no remedy for the problem I was experiencing. As of today, the vehicle still goes into limp mode going through car washes or heavy rains with no remedy on their end.

Hyundai Veloster n 2022
- Date Of Incident: 2022-08-19
- Date Complaint: 2022-12-15
- VIN: KMHT36AH0NU
- Components: LANE DEPARTURE
- Summary: The blindspot monitor system in the Hyundai Veloster N does not function as well as other Hyundai vehicles do. While driving, the blindspot monitor will randomly go off even if there is no car in my blindspot and it will sometimes not go off when there is a car driving in my blindspot. I took the car to the dealership to fix the issue and after waiting for weeks to get my car back, my local Hyundai dealership was unable to fix it and I was told there would be a recall for it eventually. Many other cars, including Hyundai vehicles, have perfectly working blindspot monitors. The Veloster N does not have the best visibility and I rely on them to help avoid crashing into the car next to me when I am changing lanes.
