Common Porsche Panamera 4s problems
Porsche Panamera Common Problems
The Porsche Panamera is a luxury vehicle known for its performance and style. However, like any car, it is not immune to issues. Here are some of the most common problems reported by owners of the Porsche Panamera:
- Oil Level High or Low
One common issue with the Porsche Panamera is the oil level being too high or too low. This is due to the electronic measurement of the oil level, which can sometimes be inaccurate. Overfilling or underfilling the oil can lead to severe engine damage. If you experience this problem, it is recommended to drain and measure the oil level to ensure it is correct.
- Porsche Communication Management (PCM) Issues
The PCM system in the Porsche Panamera has been known to exhibit random and weird behavior. Many owners have reported issues such as the PCM unit restarting every 2-3 minutes, map not loading, loading in the wrong language, turning on and off randomly, and displaying the Porsche logo screen. These issues can be caused by either a faulty PCM unit or a software problem.
- Engine and Transmission Glitches
The Porsche Panamera has experienced several engine and transmission glitches, particularly in the earlier models. Oil leaks, coolant leaks, and transmission problems have been reported by some owners. These issues can lead to significant engine damage if not addressed promptly.
- Electronic Malfunctions
Issues with electronic systems, including PCM, navigation, and entertainment features, have been a cause for concern in the Porsche Panamera. These malfunctions can be caused by faulty wiring, software problems, or hardware failures.
- Interior Build Quality and Electronic Systems Malfunctioning
There have been numerous complaints regarding interior build quality and electronic systems malfunctioning in the Porsche Panamera. These issues can range from minor annoyances to significant problems that affect the car's performance and safety.
It is worth noting that many of these issues have been rectified in the later models, and they are often considered minor compared to the overall performance and luxury offered by the vehicle. However, it is essential to be aware of these common problems and address them promptly to ensure the longevity and reliability of your Porsche Panamera.

Porsche Panamera 4s 2010
- Date Of Incident: 2014-07-26
- Date Complaint: 2014-07-29
- Crash: 1
- VIN: WP0AB2A75AL
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: MY CAR HAS KEYLESS ENTRY TO TURN ON AND OFF IGNITION. WHEN I PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE, I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION BUT FAILED TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND IT WAS LEFT IN DRIVE. I WALKED AWAY FROM THE CAR AND IT BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS WHERE IT HIT MY BASKETBALL POLE AND CAUSED QUITE A BIT OF DAMAGE TO THE CAR. I THINK THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY ON THIS VEHICLE. WITH KEYED ENTRY VEHICLES YOU CAN NOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS IN DRIVE AND MUST BE PLACED IN PARK TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. OTHER KEYLESS VEHICLES I HAVE DRIVEN SUCH AS THE AUDI A8 HAVE A FEATURE IF YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF WHILE IN DRIVE IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY PUT THE CAR IN PARK. THE PORSCHE PANAMERA, ON THE OTHER HAND, TAKES THE CAR OUT OF DRIVE AND PUTS IT INTO NEUTRAL SO THAT IT CAN ROLL FORWARD OR BACKWARD WHICH I BELIEVE IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION. IN MY CASE, IT TOOK THE CAR OUT OF DRIVE AND MOVED TO NEUTRAL TO ALLOW IT TO ROLL BACKWARDS. IF THERE WAS A CHILD BEHIND MY CAR THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR KILLED. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE SOME KIND OF DESIGN FEATURE OF KEYLESS VEHICLES THAT WOULD PUT THE CAR IN TO PARK WHEN THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF OR AT LEAST NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO ACCIDENTALLY TURN OFF THE VEHICLE WILL IN STILL IN THE DRIVE POSITION. I AM NOT SURE HOW OTHER MANUFACTURERS DEAL WITH KEYLESS ENTRY BUT I FEEL THE DESIGN OF THE PORSCHE WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO A SERIOUS INJURY. *JS

THE FIFTH (REAR) DOOR MAKES METAL TO METAL CONTACT DUE TO A MISALIGNMENT OF THE HINGE (STILL AFTER AUTO BODY WORK WAS COMPLETED BY PORSCHE). THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A LEMON AND PORSCHE NA HAS DONE NOTHING TO STEP UP THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCEPT KEPT TELLING ME TO RETURN THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE. I GAVE UP AFTER MORE THAN A HALF DOZEN ATTEMPTS. *TR
