Chrysler Srt8 problems
The Chrysler 300 is a full-size car manufactured and marketed by Stellantis North America and its predecessor companies as a four-door sedan and station wagon in its first generation (model years 2005–2010) and solely as a four-door sedan in its second generation (model years 2011–2023).
The second generation 300 was marketed as the Chrysler 300C in the United Kingdom and Ireland and as the Lancia Thema in the remainder of Europe.
Background
The Chrysler 300 continues a tradition of large front engine, rear-wheel drive V8-powered luxury sedans the company has offered, starting in the 1940s with the Chrysler Saratoga and Chrysler New Yorker, followed by the Chrysler Windsor, Chrysler Newport and the Chrysler Cordoba, with the last rear wheel drive sedan, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue that ended production in 1989.
When the company began operations in 1925, the Chrysler Six was entered as a roadster in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans where it finished the race, and in 1926, the Chrysler Imperial started the tradition of luxury and performance products. Starting in 1955, the Imperial became its own luxury brand and offered the Imperial Newport along with the Imperial Crown. The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

Common Chrysler Srt8 problems
The Chrysler SRT8, particularly the 2012 model, is generally considered a reliable vehicle with a few common issues that owners have reported. This issue was limited but could cause safety concerns for drivers.
Another common problem is a noisy steering column when turning at low speeds, which can be resolved by lubricating the bearing.
Electrical problems have also been reported, such as headlights popping and low tire sensors all going off, which can lead to the infotainment system freezing and the car being stuck in limp mode.
Maintenance items, such as failed water pumps and dead alternators, are also common issues that owners have reported. These problems are not unique to the Chrysler SRT8 and are to be expected with any vehicle of this age.
Other issues that may arise due to the age of the vehicle include engine or transmission problems, rust or damaged metal, brake line and fluid line leaks, dead or damaged wires, and blown fuses. These issues are not specific to the Chrysler SRT8 but are common problems that can arise with any vehicle of this age.

- Components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE GAS TANK IS COMPLETELY FULL WITH FUEL AND LAST FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILLING THE TANK. - Date Of Incident: 2015-05-22
- Date Complaint: 2016-08-03
- VIN: 2C3LA73WX6H
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ENGINE
- Summary: THE CAR RANDOMLY DIES AT AN IDLE, LOW SPEEDS SHIFTING GEARS, [INCLUDING REVERSE] AS WELL AS DURING SPEED ACCELERATION. IF YOU PUNCH THE GAS PEDAL WHILE MOVING IT WILL START BACK UP AND CONTINUE ON. IF YOU ARE AT A STOP YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR PARK TO USE THE KEY TO RESTART. IT DIES AT THE MOST IN CONVENIENT TIMES, AT STOP SIGNS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT. THERE IS NO PATTERN. ONE DAY IT WILL STALL OUT 2 TIMES THROUGHOUT DRIVING AND OTHER DAYS IT WILL STALL 50+ TIMES. I WAS REARENDED AT A STOP LIGHT BECAUSE MY CAR STALLED AND THE DRIVER SAW THE GREEN LIGHT AND WENT, NEGLECTING THAT I WAS AT A STOP IN FRONT OF THEM. LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPTELLS ME THERE IS NO SURE FIX BUT WANTS TO REPLACE EVERY COMPUTER AND MODULE ON MY CAR. ALSO STATING IT MIGHT NOT EVEN BE ANY OF THOSE COMPONENTS. I CANNOT AFFORD THAT OUTRAGEOUS BILL! AND THEY WON'T TAKE IT AS A TRADE IN. I'M STUCK PAYING ALOT OF MONEY FOR A USELESS SAFETY HAZARD.

- Date Complaint: 2015-09-28
- VIN: 2C3LA73W96H
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: THE CAR IS RANDOMLY BUCKING, JERKING AND STALLING. I'M GETTING RIDICULOUS ERROR MESSAGES ALL AT THE SAME TIME INCLUDING U0100 (LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE ECM/PCM), C121C (TORQUE REQUEST DENIED), U140E (IMPLAUSIBLE VEHICLE CONFIGURATION), C2202 (ORIGINAL VIN MISSING/MISMATCH), P0700 (TCM MALFUNCTION), U0164 (LOST COMMUNICATION WITH HEATING, VENTING AND COOLING), AND U110B (LOST ENGINE COOLANT MESSAGE). ALL OF THESE ERROR MESSAGES CAME UP AT THE SAME TIME AFTER THE CAR JERKED, BUCKED AND THEN STALLED. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY WEEK. THIS IS NOT RELATED TO THE STALLING DUE TO THE FAULTY GAS TANK. I HAD MY FUEL TANK REPLACED ALREADY UNDER THAT EXTENDED LIFETIME WARRANTY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SHORT CIRCUIT SOMEWHERE. MY BEST GUESS IS A BAD GROUND OR SPLICE POINT WHERE WATER MIGHT BE SHORTING THINGS OUT. MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THESE SAME PROBLEMS AND GETTING RIPPED OFF BY DEALERS WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THE DEALER WILL CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED IT (AFTER CHANGING A PART OR TWO) BECAUSE THE CAR WILL WORK AT THAT EXACT MOMENT. A DAY OR TWO LATER, THE SAME NONSENSE ENSUES. THIS NEEDS TO STOP. THE CAR IS USELESS. I CAN'T DRIVE SAFELY MORE THAN A COUPLE OF MILES FROM MY HOUSE. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT? A CAR WITH A LIMITED RANGE OF JUST A FEW MILES?! PLEASE HELP!!!!
